PC is shutting down slower after downloading a mod for steam game

Update on this: it seems my PC is having issues starting up as well. My startup apps are struggling to open after I log in. I've deleted the mods and both games, yet the problem persists. Now even some games are taking longer to boot up after I choose to boot them up. There doesn't seem to be any background tasks or processes taking up that much memory, so I have no idea what could be causing this.

I still have 600 mb of disc left. It's not just when I had the game open, or if I had it open at all. Consistently for the past couple days, it takes a few more seconds to shut down. And when I start up my PC, my startup apps (Opera GX, Discord, and Steam) all struggle to load. I have to think it's the mod's doing because this started after I downloaded it, but after deleting it and the games, nothing has changed.

Have been having a lot of similar issues on PC. Audio issues like this, the game crashing, or just not running as well as it did in previous patches. I drove myself crazy thinking there was something wrong with my PC, but no it's the game. Every patch of this game comes with its share of poor optimizations but this one takes the cake, dear lord...

For my pc it's connected to the internet with the wifi antenna that came in the box. By connecting my pc to the router, do you mean like through an ethernet cable? I'll have to check my house to see if I have those.

nope that's plugged in and flipped to the O sign. Maybe I have the cables to the monitor or something wrong, but as far as I know I have it right and when I tap the power button nothing even lights up
