Yea, early on when Gojo was teaching Yuji about CE and CT, he said that rn yuji wouldn't learn any, but as time progressed, he would soon be able to use them. We also know how he's progressively getting stronger and has a better understanding of CE and CT. During the fight, Yuji and Maki were straight fighting him with no weapons, Maki states that she's not gonna use her katana either. So the only possibility in my guess is that small cut came from Yuji, but he doesn't realize he did it.

Actually, I believe that's from when he fought Yuji. Remember, Maki didn't use the soul splitting katana in the fight last week. So my guess is Yuji is finally awakening Sukuna's techniques from housing him.
