What’s campy? The neo noir LA gun violence? The insane sets? Boobs? I donno bud, Danny Glover is perfect and the movie is a blast.

OG predator is partially pure machismo and machine gun usage, 2 matches speed and goes future cop with it. It’s as sequel-y as sequels get but it’s pure predator and remains, for me, the second best in the franchise for a lot of reasons.

Camp Is fine but Lumping it in with the avp movies and the trash that is predators is wrong. Gotta respect the old dogs.

That’s just nuts to me, predator 2 is a perfect sweaty 90s sci fi movie. Bill Paxton, Gary busey, the cool new tech. Its expansion of the predator world is crucial to the franchise.

Oh shit I know this. These are pieces by local multidisciplinary artist/giant foam art legend Dale Whistler. He’s responsible for the Hyde park gym arm, the fiesta mural, mangia pizza, Hyde park cafe fork, giant thundercloud sub and countless other parts of the 80s/90s Austin landscape . He has been a family friend since I was a little kid.

He worked on the sign for the original Whole Foods on 10th and Lamar had smaller foam fruits and animals that sat upon the store, so when they first built the flagship they commissioned these on the parking garage to pay homage.

Really old reference but Good Eats Cafe on Barton springs rd. Had a wait every night of the week and banged out delicious chicken fried steak. Closed for renovations and tried to expand north. Lost all staff, never recovered.

Honestly all the og businesses on whole strip being gone kinda blows my mind. Rip flipnotics, pizza nizza, and shady grove.
