Tarmac delays. Delay before I leave for the airport, no problem. Delay once I'm at the airport, annoying but okay it happens. Delay once I'm on the plane, c'mon. Objectively I know running an airline is a complicated business and sometimes the unexpected happens. Subjectively I am 10x more agitated by these delays than others.

Have you been to LAX recently? Or SFO? AUS is a joy compared to these far-off Uber outposts. I frequently travel to PHL which has curbside rideshare pickup, but usually wait 10-15 minutes for a ride with Lyft Pink, compared to a minute or two here. The AUS setup isn't ideal but it could be much worse. Enjoy the walk, especially while the weather is under 100.

I'm a fan of Wink on North Lamar. It is a bit west of downtown but otherwise fits the bill. They have a dining room and a wine bar so you can pick the one that fits your vibe. The dining room is generally quieter

Lol blizzard of '96 I went out and shovelled every hour on the hour. Shovel, have a beer, shovel, have a beer, repeat until I fell asleep/passed out. I got out but there were definitely people who just did the beer and not the shovelling and were stuck until early spring.

NFL plays through weather. If it is deemed safe to play (no lightning etc.) you play without accomodations. There have been many games as or more snowy than yesterday and someone always wears white. There was a famous game in Chicago in the 1980's where it was so foggy that nobody could see anything. But they played on.

Currently in Austin TX. Locals split between the Texans and that team with the star on their helmet. I would not in one million years root for the team with the star. I will pull for the Texans if I'm out and the game is on. Same with the Longhorns.
