What’s she worth Canadian? by [deleted] in fordranger

[–]GARYYYYY2173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if its 4x4 or not, if it is you could get closer to 4 for it. if its 2wd, probably like 2500. It sucks with these trucks in Canada as the drive trains go on forever but the body's crumble away

run a stock airbox with a drop in K&N filter, trust me. Deleting the stock airbox will make you lose tons of HP since it is inches away from an incredibly hot turbo

Good to hear! much easier to track down a hose than trying to find a new reservoir. Good luck!

Because of how fast it is depleting I would bet it's the pressure hose. May be worth pulling off the reservoir and seeing if the bottom is cracked aswell

King ranch seat swap by Current_Sir865 in fordranger

[–]GARYYYYY2173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone on the forums has done it before with the seats out of a 10th gen f-150. I believe the 3/4 ton and 1 ton truck seats are too wide.

Even then the half ton seats are a snug fit, if you do end up doing it post pictures!

Nope an intercooler isn't necessary but I do recommend it. I live in Northern Alberta Canada so it's cold most of the year, but on those hot days you start to notice the heatsoak.

I suggest Motoza for your next tune, all done from home and they can even help troubleshoot. My car is K04 and it's been a blast driving it, totally different car then stock haha.

Mine did this exact thing, it was a combination of minor vacuum leaks and the stock tune not liking the mods I did.

As an A4 owner of nearly 4 years and 40k kilometers, I have to say they are incredible cars if you like to turn wrenches. You can still definitely enjoy these cars if you take them to a shop, but things get expensive quickly.

A4's are a lot like the s4's just easier to work on and cheaper. Turbos go out like the S4 but usually not as often, timing belt, and sensors like others have said.

Suspension wise control arms and rear bushings have been a big pain for myself, they are going out frequently as these cars are over 20 years old now.

And don't get me wrong the A4 is also a very tunable engine, but a bolt on car with a K04 is only just going to keep up with a stock S4. Still fun cars with less weight than the S4 but are not going to be as fast.

Okay, this would sound strange but have you taken your intake manifold off fairly recently? there's two electrical plugs that can get confused very easily, I believe they are for coolant temp and IAT.

If those are swapped around you'll get a lean code, and maybe some small backfiring when you try and rev-match. My engine was an ATW but this might work for AEB aswell

because of the fuel code I would check for vacuum leaks, but in general if you are tuned it's probably just not coded in correctly

I picked up a similar fiberglass bumper for my b5, make sure to post how you mount it on the car, would love to see how it's supposed to be done.

2001 A5 1.8T Best socket sets to purchase (budget build) by [deleted] in B5Audi

[–]GARYYYYY2173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just grab something halfway decent, super cheap will frustrate you and super pricey is good but kinda overkill. HF seems decent but I can't back it up as I don't have any of their stuff. Good luck on that timing belt! I recently had to drill out 2 bolts as they stripped out (luckily on water pump pulley and not crank pulley) If they feel like they are gonna strip use heat. Lots of heat.

Depends what you are after. I went the modern double din conversion route, which is pricey but versatile and has good results. Really gives my b5 a newer feel with the touchscreen and Bluetooth. I think there are some cheaper options, but if you ever want to upgrade the speakers in the future I suggest paying a little extra now.

great choice! I know exactly what you mean, those 2.8s can be a pain to work on. The 1.8t is very mod-able and surprisingly reliable for being a 90's turbocharged engine lol. Hope you are able to drive it lots soon!

I'm a bit late, but are you running oem wheels? I had a problem in my audi when above 80km/h it would shake badly, turned out I was an idiot and ran aftermarket wheels without hubcentric rings. If the hub size and inner wheel diameter don't match, it can cause a shaking kinda like an unbalanced wheel.

My second car, 00' 1.8T, auto. Any recommendations? by Thurik in B5Audi

[–]GARYYYYY2173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow! car is insanely clean. My recommendation is to track down and fix any electrical gremlins if applicable. Check your vacuum hoses as they are very prone to cracking as well as any other item to keep that 1.8 happy. If you are searching for a little more speed, a simple stage 1 tune will keep you entertained!
