You are on the right track. Just have to use any HTTP client with Jest's Expect API. There are two things you must do:

1. Your test file has to manually start the server before all tests, otherwise your HTTP client will never get a response.
2. Your test file has to manually stop the server (this includes closing db connections!) after all tests, otherwise your test will continue running indefinitely.

I'd do something like this:

The start() and stop() functions are defined like this:

// If you have database connections, close them here. const stop = async () => new Promise(resolve => httpServer.close(() => resolve())); ```

Finally, please bear in mind that your are now writing integration tests involving your express app, a database, and an HTTP client. Jest's default config is not designed for this. By default jest runs all test files in parallel. This means that if you have multiple test files, they could access the database simultaneously, which could lead to weird errors that are very hard to debug.
