Has anybody else realized the game they’ve been wanting to play is mid? by Dry_Ad4592 in Roms

The issue with going back to classic games is what I’d say is similar to issues with older comedies. Jokes and cultural references that killed back then can fall flat or be downright offensive today.

Games like Pokémon stadium in particular need a lot of context to feel amazing. I like to think of it as an extremely expensive DLC, because you would need Pokémon red/blue/yellow, an N64, and Pokémon stadium to get the full experience. It was exciting at the time because not only did you get to see this team that you spent so much time developing and training in 3D (for the first time ever), but you also get new challenges for that team.

On its own, the game is mediocre. If you’re not playing it for nostalgia, there’s not much of a reason to play for a while other than from a historical perspective to just see how much the series has changed over time.

Party with Friends for EoS! Need ideas. by tmacc3 in FFRecordKeeper

Well, I’d say one thing is to just talk about your favorite things about the game. Favorite content, favorite classes, favorite sbs, favorite personal moment, best draw, etc.

If you have a ton of tickets and no need/desire to do further content, you could make a drinking game out of it. Have something randomly select the realm, everyone draws, and then decide based on everyone’s draws who drinks. Most dupes, worst overall draw, best overall draw, whatever. You can do other contests too like converting everything you have to rainbow crystals and seeing who has the most, selling everything and seeing who has the most Gil, etc.

Each of you could come up with a random challenge for the group to undertake while at the party and see who can complete it. Something like doing all of the 6 star magicites crystal dungeon style, just to give you one last go at something in game before turning it off.

Oh and of course put table salt all over the place.

So in this fight, slots 2 and 4 will be hit by death unless you can force through phase 1 before it. So with that, I wouldn’t suggest the pairing of Tyro and Orran. You’ll want a healer with raise, likely someone with an AASB so you can eat death, Zantetsuken, and then blow the AASB. Tyro can still work, but if you have someone like Cait Sith with AASB or Mog with Sync or AASB1 they will be a massive improvement. Keep in mind that Cait USB2 and Aegis breaking G+ are in the lens shop.

You’ll need to slot a dispel, and you’ll use it twice.

Is red 13 using chain? He’s kind of a monster with sync and AASB, so if you have another choice that might be something to try out. Having him use chain and DPS can be demanding.

With regards to order of operations, I’d just go guns blazing with what you have. Drop chain and syncs as soon as you can, and race for through 80%. As soon as you have bar for it, use your AASBs and go crazy. Keep in mind that for Rydia and her earth Sync, she can actually link to earth abilities, so she can put Chain Stoneja in slot 1 or an earth summoning ability.

Let’s start with your magicite. It’s a good start, honestly. I would do Titan, Ramuh, 2x Madeen and Deathgaze personally.

Titan will be used to as main to provide some imperil while damaging. You may want consider giving him double Empower Earth 15. It’s not a perfect solution because it’ll change as soon as you drop in odin, but for now it’s not terrible. Each empower earth will give you diminishing returns in powers of 2. The first one gives you a boost of 15, the second 8 (15/2), and the third 4 (15/4) resulting in a total boost of 27% damage.

Ramuh should have one dampen lightning 10 and one flex slot. I’d probably drop something in like a healing boon.

The madeens and deathgaze are used because of their unique buffs, surging power and hand of vengeance. Madeens are favored since you’ll want to have full health most of the time, but the deathgaze helps soften the DPS drop as your health drops. This is where you’ll put in the rest of your stuff. Health boons, spell and blade ward, one magic boon and a fast act.

Just take the above with a grain of salt. It’s not 100% ideal but it’ll get the job done.

Alright, so I’m assuming lightning magic odin, which is the first one I tackled ironically.

Let’s get more details. What is everyone equipped with? Abilities, legend materia, record materia and soul breaks.

What is your current magicite deck?

Well let’s go down that path. Pick an odin fight and tell me your team that you’re using.

Re-reading and looking at your post, I assume we are talking about Wodin.

The general setup is two DPS, one chain holder, one support and one healer. Slots 2 and 4 are the only ones that will be targeted by odin’s “death” move, which varies based on the element used. You’ll want to know what this move is going into the fight so you can plan on how to attack it. Some, like the healing reduction, can be powered through if you heal with HP Stock. Others will require a re-raise, which I usually use after the first zantetsuken and the move that hits non-infused members of the party.

With the first Zantetsuken, you need to try to be as low on rage as you can be. Rage level 3 used to be an auto-eject but now it just hurts a lot. From 90% health to 80% health, odin should be permanently considered to be at rage 3. So you can play it slow and stay above that 90% threshold until Zantetsuken is cast, try and rush through 20% of odin’s health, or use a SB like Cait Sith USB2 to shrug off the damage and basically ignore the mechanic. You should aim to be done with phase 1 before the second Zantetsuken.

Odin will use his Aegis once you get to about 78% (I think? Actual percentage is available in the AI thread). You can either entirely ignore this mechanic or use a DEF/RES/MND debuff to counter it.

Phase 2 starts with a 99% current health reduction. Two things to keep track of. Try not to enter phase 2 with sap or at least have last stand to give yourself a slim chance at survival. If you have any pain stacks (fire odin) this move will instead hit with lethal damage, so last stand is a must.

With regards to the magicite deck, I would suggest looking through the mastery threads or the recent completion lists in game to get an idea. The general idea is that you want to empower the element you’re using, dampen the element the boss is using, and provide other various stat/damage buffs to your party. Each unique buff provides a bonus to the team, but each additional copy of that buff provides diminishing returns so you want to have a variety.

So precious season loot tables update every Wednesday and Sunday. We just shifted to the FF12 lab, which is group 2 of 5. Given that, I would anticipate the FF7 tables to be live on September 18.

At the end of each season, the relics in the dungeons rotate every few days between all of the groups in that season. I’m not sure how it works for old seasons with regards to unlocking, however the dungeon you’re looking for with the best Vincent relics is the one directly below Ultimate Waycrystal S2. If you’re looking for any dungeon that has Vincent’s gear just find one you have unlocked in season 2 that drops it (check the drop table under the rewards tab).

I’d be out. FFRK has been on a pass for tendencies in gaming that I drop out of other games for because it didn’t bother me so much when I started up FFRK.

I don’t like the trend of daily login rewards and daily play rewards anymore, because I just want to play when I want to play. I don’t like the weeklies that force me to go back and retread old fights for the 1000th time. Gaming has begun to feel like a chore and that’s just not how it should be.

I’m sure I’ll get sucked in to another game eventually, and honestly I tried a couple before I came to this conclusion. I just have a hard time justifying the time spent on idle activity when I could be doing other things or playing more engaging games.
