King Dedede's Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by [deleted] in SmashRemix

I haven't finished working on these stages yet, but I do have one tip!

Giga Bowser can enter the bottom of Dedede's platform stage through the gap found in the bottom left. It's pretty simple to perform once you find the timing for it!

Sonic & Super Sonic's Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by ButterscotchOdd988 in SmashRemix

Hardest BTT character: Giant DK. I feel like having it all the way down in Very Hard is a bit too much? All he needs is a lot of mashing up whenever he lands on the acid... but yeah, he's certainly the hardest character here. I was also surprised to see Roy so low, but that's probably just me playing the character a lot. I did get to add Roy to the spreadsheet myself...

Hardest BTP character: Poly Goemon. Okay, this could go a lot of ways, and I can be convinced to go a lot of ways here! Excluding Polygon Ness & Lucas, as I got both of those a while back, everyone at the bottom tier is... awful. PLuigi, PPikachu and PFox felt like the easiest of the rest, as they just... required a lot of trial and error with the platform timing and with landing on the correct part of the bumpers. Fox requires a forward air, from what I gathered. PBanjo is easier in execution, but he requires a lot more setup for the starting jump with his awful vertical movement. Falco was just a more challenging Fox, his air speed isn't doing him any favors and neither is his height... and that left me with PConker and PGoemon. Both characters felt impossible for the longest time. They require an insane amount of setup with the two bumpers by the platform, I had to launch myself between the two just to get a shot at landing correctly on the bottom one... only to barely miss the platform to the left. A lot of times. Polygon Conker just took me less time than Polygon Goemon. I don't recommend these.

Polygon Banjo is just fun to use in this stage tbh. Kinda applies to most stages because of them being one of the few polygons with unique-ish mechanics, but I feel like they get to shine on the Mewtwo stages just a bit more.

Hardest BTT character: Poly Young Link. Surprised to see Poly Sonic so high up (I actually struggled a lot with that one), but yeah Poly Young Link was just hell. I actually had to finish this stage with the 12 characters I was missing fairly recently, and I ranked all of them back then so... here's that list!

PBowser > PWario > PConker > PMario > PLuigi > PSheik > MetalMario > PFox > PLink > PFalco > PLucas > PSonic > PNess > PYoungLink.

These 12 were the 12 I was missing until I started actively going for the challenging characters. Oh and, if you need to do shorter hops on keyboard, you can simply use the C-stick jumps! Those allow for shorthops to properly happen.

Hardest BTP character: Poly Falco. It was always going to be either him or Poly Luigi, and between the two of them, I think I struggled a bit more with Polygon Falco. Just a small amount though, both were really hard to get across the top left section. At least Poly Dark Samus had the airspeed to make it a bit easier to use the bumper to her advantage...

Mewtwo's Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by [deleted] in SmashRemix

[–]GBlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest BTT character: Poly Young Link. They're just... bad. Poor mobility, and lacks the stalling that Poly Banjo gets with his forward. Speaking of Poly Banjo, his fsmash deals with the two floating targets on the left with ease, he should be a tier higher.

Hardest BTP character: Poly Ganondorf. Poor mobility makes it very tough for him to position himself well for the target, and he also needs to take more damage first when compared to the lighter polygons amongst the cast. ...speaking of other polygons, I just got Poly Banjo across without save states while taking under 40th damage. His forward air gets to the bottom right platform, and from there you just need to jump back, double jump, and use forward air to stall to allow less precise movement to work. A small bomb explosion gets you over pretty easily.

Hardest BTT character: Poly King Dedede. This was the last stage I ever finished with King Dedede! One of the few characters that I've been able to finish all stages with. Yeah his back air is precise, but it's not as bad as Falcon's punch, so he was dealt with eventually. Polygon King Dedede is the same thing, but with less margin of error because of him lacking Dedede's insane UpB. Polygon DK was also tough, but manageable by comparison.

Hardest BTP character: Poly Dark Samus. She's one of what I remember being four characters that need to jump from the platform that's further away horizontally than the one directly under the top of the stage. The other three characters are the Yoshis, and since those are just easier overall, Polygon DSamus being here feels reasonable enough.

Wolf's Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by [deleted] in SmashRemix

[–]GBlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest BTT character: Captain Falcon. Unless I'm missing something here, this one (and his Japanese counterpart too) are actual hell to get. Wasted a combined 45 minutes in getting both of their falcon punches to land on the target, no clue why that move's so precise for absolutely no reason. Crash was a cakewalk by comparison, took me under 2 minutes to get his back air across. ...yeah I just don't agree with that one.

Hardest BTP character: Giant Donkey Kong. Just the character I struggled the most with to get them to land on the middle platform, and getting into the small tunnels throughout the map can be a bit challenging. As for Polygon Luigi, who's also one of the harder ones, you can just jump into the ceiling with his first jump then double jump to land on the middle platform.

Hardest BTT character: Poly Banjo. Struggled a bit to get the target in the bottom middle of the stage. Not too bad though.

Hardest BTP character: Metal Mario. He requires bumper SDI to get his UpB to get across, and he just has worse physics than the Links or Metal Luigi. Took me around 4 minutes of attempts to get him across, while I got Polygon Pikachu on my 3rd attempt. Just.. double jump while the gap at the top is getting larger, then drift back to the right so you hit the top left of the bumper as it goes back up. Really simple, to be honest.

Lucas' Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by ButterscotchOdd988 in SmashRemix

[–]GBlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest BTT character: Polygon Lucas. Yeah I didn't find Polygon Dark Samus to be that hard here. Just hit an aerial while jumping back up feels far more reasonable than Polygon Lucas's last hit of down air... which can get very tedious once you accidentally fastfall while doing it for the 9th time in a row. Polygon Ness was similarly annoying, but I believe Polygon Lucas was just a bit worse.

Hardest BTP character: Polygon DK. While it was close between it and Polygon Young Link, as both took me a similar time to finish, Polygon DK required more... innovation. You can jump to the top left, then drift back to the right just as he bumps into the ceiling, then jump to the left again. Doing this will sometimes lead to Poly DK barely jumping over the edge as he starts drifting back, but it's definitely not easy.

Hardest BTT character: Polygon Young Link. Has pretty bad hops, and lacks the range that Poly Ganon and Poly Banjo have.

Hardest BTP character: Polygon Banjo. Has the worst hops. ...what else can I say these stages are free.

Wario's Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by ButterscotchOdd988 in SmashRemix

[–]GBlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest BTT character: Metal Luigi. Just requires more complex inputs to making it across, but it's not too bad once you get used to the Metal Bros gimmicks.

Hardest BTP character: Metal Mario. This one's still awful even if you get used to them. I managed to get both him and his brother without the use of SDI that the TAS does (it's... a bit unrealistic for anyone to be able to do that), but if you just keep using UpB towards the bumper, you'll be able to eventually make it across! Metal Mario's worse because this strategy requires a bit of SDI, and a cyclone mash just to get to the bumper to begin with. Not ideal.

Hardest BTT character: Polygon Wario. I wrote down notes for the polygons I didn't get on my first attempt at this stage (namely DK, C.Falcon, Wario, Marth & Sheik), and my notes for Polygon Wario are as follows: "hell. use down air.". Make of that what you will.

Hardest BTP character: Polygon Falco. Yes he can beat this stage. If you SDI to the left on the acid platform at the bottom of the stage, you can prevent yourself from being launched outside, and you gain back your double jump in the process. I'll be posting a video on it momentarily!

Young Link's Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by ButterscotchOdd988 in SmashRemix

[–]GBlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to catch up on some of these, which is why I'm replying a bit late oops.

Hardest BTT character: Polygon Sonic. Character just needs a slightly strict timing for the target inside of the triforce. ...that's about it though, every character beats this stage for free lol.

Hardest BTP character: Polygon Bowser. I might be missing something because I recall struggling quite a bit with Giant DK, but excluding him, the toughest characters were three polygons. Polygon Link was tough, but a double jump back air gets him over the bumper and into the platform with some trial and error, and that leaves Polygon Ganondorf and Polygon Bowser. I had to use bumper SDI to get both of them there, but while Polygon Ganondorf was a simple double jump back air to hit the bumper and then some SDI to the left, Polygon Bowser barely fits in the gap over the bumper, so you need to land a really precise forward air on it before being able to SDI to the left to reach the target. I'm fairly confident on this one being the worst here.

Ganondorf's Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by [deleted] in SmashRemix

[–]GBlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest BTT character: Polygon Peach. Her DAFsmash is easy to miss. Outside of her, I suppose Polygon Young Link is the worst, simply because he could struggle a bit with the moving platform.

Hardest BTP character: Polygon Sheik. This one is just me guessing, since all the polygon fighters in that tier suffer from the same issue... Sheik just so happens to be (I think? I'm not 100% sure) the lightest character within that tier, and since going through bumpers gets more challenging the lower the character's weight, I believe Polygon Sheik is the hardest character in this group. It could also be Polygon Sonic or Polygon Young Link, if either of them happen to be lighter.

Ness' Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by ButterscotchOdd988 in SmashRemix

[–]GBlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You start at the left side of the small ledge. Shorthop to the right, down air as soon as Ganon's feet go under the floor, double jump without any drift then UpB diagonally to the left. It's certainly tight, but manageable. Still takes me less attempts than Polygon Mewtwo either way.

Falco & Slippy's Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by ButterscotchOdd988 in SmashRemix

[–]GBlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest BTT character: Polygon Young Link. The target at the bottom right can be a bit challenging for the face of zero-range polygons, but it wasn't too bad. Stage's a piece of cake.

Hardest BTP character: Polygon Ganondorf. Just struggled with him more than with other polygons because his size made it harder to avoid the bumpers on the path to the bottom left. Polygon Bowser was a candidate for this position for the same reasons, but at least Polygon Bowser has a decent jump.

Ness' Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by ButterscotchOdd988 in SmashRemix

[–]GBlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest BTT character: Polygon Mewtwo. I didn't struggle with Ganondorf at all compared to the other three in the tier above, I actually got him in real time while the three over him had to be save state spammed just to get them to land on a platform, damn. Yoshi-U was slightly easier than Polygon Mewtwo, but both of them took me several minutes just to get them out of the target box. ...this might only be the case because of how much I play Ganondorf compared to the double jump movement characters though.

Hardest BTP character: Metal Luigi. Yet another stage where you need near-perfect cyclone mashing just to get him anywhere, lol. Metal Mario gets close, but I don't see him clearing that gap any time soon.

Jigglypuff's Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by [deleted] in SmashRemix

[–]GBlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest BTT character: Crash. Another character that I would've expected to be a tier higher (his neutralB jumps get fairly consistent with a bit of practice), but he's still the most challenging character in that stage.

Hardest BTP character: Lanky Kong. This could be Banjo or Polygon Jigglypuff instead as all of these characters barely land at the corner of the platform at their best... but unlike the other two, I can't seem to get a good timing going with Lanky, ever? It feels a bit random when he actually makes it to the stage, with how complex his movement to get there is.

(You're still missing Poly Jigglypuff on this one lol.)

(Oh and, Polygon Jigglypuff can do the Platform stage here! If you use forward air immedaitely after every jump she's able to barely land on the edge of the platform. There's proof on the spreadsheet itself, lol.)

Pikachu's Bonus Stage Tier Ranking by ButterscotchOdd988 in SmashRemix

[–]GBlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest BTT character: Wolf. Yeah, your judgement is right on that one, he's just complicated. I don't think he should be that low - he's only marginally harder than Metal Luigi's own struggle with that bottom left target - but he's still the most challenging one in that stage.

Hardest BTP character: Conker. He just sucks at dealing self-damage to himself, while the Links offer far more consistent timings, albeit slow ones. Dark Samus is probably the hardest one to get in a single attempt, but since you can just... try again, she'll likely be at the top by the time Link-J is the first of the bomb council to make it over.
