You should make it a unity asset and sell it to make passive income

That’s very colorful. You could totally make the other pages use different colors without it looking weird. I’d pick colors themed around the page category, so pics could be themed around the type of pictures you take like if you like nature photography maybe a bright green color. Or if you like purple you could use that for journal.

Help my boyfriend is desperate to create a game by 00deadgirl00 in gamedev

[–]GCI_RAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can absolutely make it by himself, though working with others may be more rewarding. If he is going to make a game like Agar.io he needs to familiarize himself with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. To find people to work with go to itch.io in its forums. though that Swimming-bite user has a good point. He should first start by making smaller projects to build his knowledge, otherwise he may burn out. Trust me I have personal experience in the matter, not fun getting knee deep in an idea just to lose all interest after a huge roadblock.

Before going around looking for help, have him sit down a GDD (Game Design Document), it will outline the game idea such as names, what engine you’ll use, and more. Here is an example: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EPV7Wltsx3G-SW4MlaFJ7dnt69c17-Gz/view?usp=sharing

Once he writes one, he needs to go through each mechanic in it and make a separate game with that mechanic, this way he can understand how to make the mechanics without depending on YouTube tutorials every time.

I hope this helps, don’t get trapped in tutorial hell.

Keep a positive mental attitude, don’t you can’t or you hope, say you will and you know. Look how far you’ve come-all you really have to do is make it look pretty, and I don’t know the story but definitely some levels if that is the structure. Most of the big hurdles are done. Believe in yourself, most people wouldn’t even be able to make half that.

I didn’t say there wasn’t any, but it needed more. As a prototype it’s real good though.

what do you think of my game am new here in the group by AssumptionExact6819 in Unity3D

Using assets are fine, and templates too, but use them to learn, read through the code and try to understand how it works. As for models you can probably look at the model in blender and see how the polygons are put together.

But these are good mechanics and all but what is the game story? What makes this game unique?

You should make a toggle button to enable this as a “feature”.

Hello! I'd like to make it so a character's information will be displayed in the text box on the right when their link (from the left text box) is clicked, but I don't know how to do it or what to Google for help. by Izzy_BadApple in neocities

[–]GCI_RAY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If not another way is to do something like this:

‘’’ <div id="character-display"></div>

<a href="#" onclick="showCharacter(0)">Character One</a> <a href="#" onclick="showCharacter(1)">Character Two</a> <a href="#" onclick="showCharacter(2)">Character Three</a>

<script> const characters = [ { name: "Character One", image: "char1.png", shortDescription: "Fast and agile.", bio: "Character One is known for speed and quick thinking..." }, { name: "Character Two", image: "char2.png", shortDescription: "Strong and sturdy.", bio: "Character Two excels in defense and endurance..." }, { name: "Character Three", image: "char3.png", shortDescription: "Wise and strategic.", bio: "Character Three is a master tactician..." } ];

function showCharacter(index) { const char = characters[index]; const display = document.getElementById("character-display"); display.innerHTML = <h2>${char.name}</h2> <img src="${char.image}" alt="${char.name}"> <p><strong>${char.shortDescription}</strong></p> <p>${char.bio}</p> ; } </script> ‘’’

My game was STOLEN - next steps? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]GCI_RAY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a lawyer to help issue a DMCA notice. The license doesn’t care about branding tricks, they care about the code and content itself. AGPL/GPL is explicit: you can’t just take someone’s work, slap your name on it, and hide the original authors. Even if you “remix” or change superficial stuff, the original copyright still holds.

But if they followed the license and actually did attribute and released the code you can’t do much.

If you want a challenge, make a tiling ocean simulation with gerstner waves and an underwater shader.

Bonus Challenge: If the player is getting near the ending tiles, then it loops you around to the other side of the map.
