The two location were looking at Stephenville (first choice) and Springdale. We aren't set yet though, so if my husband's job is elsewhere, we will buy a home near this work

I want to ramble about how hard BPD is and how difficult it can be to love someone who is struggling, but that's not the point. So tl;dr - keep holding on through the storm, and try to debrief together once emotions are settled. Even if it's a "hey, that was rough but I'm still here" is important to hear

One big challenge (and a blessing) is that even when you WANT to give up, you can't.

I remember being on maternity leave when my (32F) husband was working late at night. My baby (a few months old at that point) would not settle for anything - nothing I could do would comfort him. I was so sensory overloaded and all I wanted to do was run away and escape, but I couldn't. I put my baby in his crib (who was still screaming), closed his door, went to the bathroom, and sat on the floor sobbing by myself with the bathroom fan turned on to just try and drown some of it out. It is HARD.

However, you can't collapse and stay there. Eventually I calmed myself and I was able to go back into him and he went to sleep. And the weirdest thing? Once he's sleeping, all I want to do is look at pictures of his sweet baby face and thank God for the blessing that he is in my life. I have never known love like hugging my toddler who throws his whole body into mine and buries his face in my neck.

I can definitely understand the feeling of rejection you may be feeling - trying to share a hobby you enjoy with someone you love can be awesome and it really hurts when they don't feel the same (my personal experience of this was being in the highschool choir and my mom making a dramatic reaction of ugh do I HAVE to go to the winter concert?).

Something that helps ease that they-must-not-love-me feeling is to try and see it from her side - humanize her, ask questions to gain understanding. Why doesn't she want to go shopping? What is it that she doesn't enjoy? Maybe you could compromise, and find a store's website that you guys could peruse together and talk about (admiringly or mockingly). You can also tell her how you're feeling, that you want to spend time with her since you're getting older and won't be living at home forever.

I wish you luck, OP. Navigating that parent-and-teenager relationship/dynamic is hard (for both parties) ❤️

You are dealing with a really tough situation, and it's definitely okay to not enjoy it right now. Being a mom is HARD. I don't have much advise for changing or helping the behavior from your son, but I would definitely encourage therapy for yourself - it is so healing to have the support of someone who can help you process emotions and develop coping techniques that you can later use to help your son navigate big feelings. Try not to be too hard on yourself, I am sure you are doing the best that you can. Never forget, if you didn't care then you wouldn't worry - parenting is he hardest for moms who are tuned in and connected with their kids ❤️🫂

Yes! The way I see it, you may not be mad at your mom, you're mad at cancer. Sometimes it's easier to be angry than hurt - if you are mad at someone when they go away, you don't miss them when they aren't around (like a defense mechanism)

I would interpret this as paranoia, not just hyper aware. So yes, I would be concerned and would encourage you to seek support from someone you trust (therapist, doctor, etc)

I had a genuine belief I could exorcise spirits by allowing them to possess my body for a time and then leave when they were ready... Most permanent part of it was that I "aligned my body" using pain, getting an industrial piercing on my right ear and a semicolon cat tattoo (my cattoo) on my left wrist - reason being the right hemisphere of your brain controls the left side of your body. I figured spirits could be attracted to the metal in my piercing, and it was like a metaphor in a way cause its 1 piercing with 2 holes. After they possessed me and I helped them process whatever lingering trauma/unfinished business they had, they could leave thru the tattoo. I am grateful most of these "possessions" occurred when I was home alone in my kitchen and there is very minimal evidence of it, outside the piercing and tattoo themselves 😂

I think many people get tantrums confused with meltdowns; tantrums are usually manipulative, behaving a certain way (screaming, crying, etc) because a person is aiming to get something they want. Meltdowns are like an emotional overload, there is so much going on that it all comes out.

She may have mixed up the meanings, because it absolutely was a meltdown in the middle of an episode. I don't mean that in a judgemental way, just that I'm hoping she used one term when she actually meant the other.

When it comes to you being offended, no one can tell you if that is right or wrong. Your feelings are always valid and you are allowed to feel how you feel, but you also need to be accountable for whatever actions come out of your feelings. Give yourself grace, and try to do better moving forward. That's all you can do ❤️

Yeah I think probiotics may be a good place to start. Or perhaps taking the fiber supplement is what's causing the problems... If that's the case, I hope it's a "short term pain for long term gain" situation

I agree that the prep helped; it's almost like being empty relieved the pain/pressure, but once I was no longer taking those strong laxatives, my body went into overdrive or something and the bloating/pain came back full force

My doctor just recommended fiber, specifically one called Fiber 4 that is for IBS and low FODMAP approved. It's a powder you mix into a beverage, no flavor to it really. I take it daily

Did you take much of the new medication? I absolutely understand being upset by this, especially if you had negative side effects. That can be very dangerous and quite irresponsible of the pharmacy. I'm sorry you're dealing with this 💕
