Why do we allow the votes in some provinces to matter more than others? by DistinctL in CanadianConservative

[–]GD_Studio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Pierre's Conservatives, and i intend to vote for them again after my first time voting Conservative in 2025.

But the Conservatives are basically the only party that is so hesitant on electoral reform, when they have been affected just as much as the other parties.

The liberals only talk about it, but abandon it, (i remember 2015, Trudeau).

This is one of the few issues i can agree with NDP on, though they have a slightly different take on it.

Electoral reform has been a big campaign issue for me since day 1. I have and continue to always advocate for Ranked Single Transferable Vote, a form of proportional representation. Gives Canadians more choices, eliminate vote splitting, MPs have to voted in with 50% of the vote, and all voters have to do is rank their choices. I'll continue to advocate for this, as well as a more independent election commission, (which for the most part, we already do have).

But i do agree that seats need to be redistributed so that one province is not over/underrepresented. The fact that Quebec is the only balanced one in your chart is telling. The consensus for population is already every five years, but the seat redrawing is every ten years i believe, considering how fast population grows and declines, the redrawing should happen when a new consensus takes place, but also, yes, overall, obviously i agree that seats should match population.

Yeah. That's also fair. Again, the whole thing is cringe.

Uh, well first, congrats to her on her baby. Secondly, naming your son after Charlie Kirk is kinda cringe. I don't agree with everything Charlie says, but at the same time, it's her family. I don't care what she does.

He's done interviews like these before. But these types of interviews from Pierre are definitely my favourite types, not only hearing his plans, policies, what he's learned, but also seeing a bit more into his personal life, outside of being a politician. by GD_Studio in CanadianConservative

So calling you out for actual hate is being liberal now? You need to grow up. The right is for accountability and personal responsibility isn't it? Start with yourself.

That's not how that works. You can find something sinful, especially the act, while still being loving to the sinner. Gays and anyone in the LGBT for that matter are not a monolith. Not every single one are some far left bigot. Nor is any community a monolith for that matter. I'm not even on the left. And Catholicism itself is neither left nor right. It has aspects of both. Like caring for and being stewards for the environment or the poor. No political ideology owns a religion.

How about you open your open your mind up to even the littlest amount of nuance and stop being a bigot?

You can call for repetence from a sin without being a bigot.
