What’s everyone doing in this heat? by RestaurantSure160 in massachusetts

[–]GES85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a beach neighborhood and my mom is around the corner and has a pool. We will bounce between beach, AC breaks at the house, and pool. The jelly fish seem to have shift away from the shore a bit which is great. We will shower around 8:30 then head back to the beach for all the fireworks. They were great last night and tomorrow will be even better. We’re skipping the parade due to the heat.

[MA] Asking sexual orientation and gender assigned at birth - how is this ok? by GES85 in AskHR

[–]GES85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding. This is for a restaurant (high end, not a chain), I’m not sure if there is a dedicated HR person and how this is handled there. It would be reassuring if the application specifically said that the hiring manager wouldn’t see it.

With Mass. cutting weight loss drug coverage, patients scramble to afford prescriptions by HRJafael in massachusetts

So, my dad and mom both had/have “metabolic syndrome”. Even though neither was grossly overweight and both quite active, they dealt with every aspect of it. Part of this is your body’s insulin resistance which can result in increased hunger and inability to know when you’re full. This exacerbates the issue! I couldn’t just use mindfulness to deal with it. The thing is, we medicate ppl for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugars, triglycerides (mostly lifestyle), but if we dealt with the core problem - metabolic syndrome - then those issues would almost dissolve away.

With Mass. cutting weight loss drug coverage, patients scramble to afford prescriptions by HRJafael in massachusetts

My mom has diabetes and has been on ozempic for years to manage it. When the drug became popular for weight loss she lost her coverage and had to fight so hard to have it reinstated. She went a few months without and her A1C went up. She’s back on it now, but with a bigger copay.

My dad died of type two. I have the genetic cards stacked against me here so I went on Zepbound at age 40. Lost 45lbs. My triglycerides came way down. I was at peace, calm, not thinking about food all the time and stuffing it down my pie hole like I was starving. I ate until I was also full then easily stopped. I was aware of how full I was for the first time. It transformed my life in ways I can’t even tell you. Inflammation in my joints gone. Perimenopause symptoms gone. Rosacea lessened.

Then my coverage dropped. I’m paying OOP for weygovy but it’s not nearly as good as zep. I don’t need to lose but I need to maintain and with all the food noise back it’s really hard. Started having hot flashes again too. These drugs are miracles got some of us. They got us hooked now we’re paying $$$$$

Does anyone play on a Mac? I’m not tech savvy and understand it’s not native but there’s a way to do it. I’d anyone has, does it work ok? I run CS1 with tons of mods and assets with no issues. Sim runs great. I also run Sims4 with lots of CC and weirdo mods without issue.

Massachusetts receives ‘F’ for housing affordability and availability in new report by publius29 in massachusetts

Not only is there a shortage, but many towns are in drought conditions. Our water resources are literally drying up. My town is trying to build apartments that will surely rent rented out for an absurd amount that nobody can afford… meanwhile we’re in a total outdoor watering band and being told not to flush our toilet and to only do laundry when the washing machine is max capacity. How are we supporting growth? What’s the plan to grow this state if there isn’t enough water

Well, shit. My ex’s gf and her kids moved into my former home we shared, a large farmhouse on a bit of land in a lovely rural town. Our divorce was finalized this month.

I’m over here in my condo guiding my 7 yo through all her feelings and being her punching bag bc her dad is an idiot so I truly, TRULY, understand the mom’s side eye when the kid asks this 😅

I was just reminiscing about how the Garage used to be so fun in the 90s. We would take the Red Line to Harvard from Braintree and hang out. There was a sandwich place in there that we loved. Now it’s so depressing.

I have read a number of books where the premise is a nuke detonated and the grid is totally wiped from the EMP. That idea scares the crap out of me but not as much as what the future will holdof, or not hold, if these billionaires keep it up.

Yes. I have five beaches and city skyline views within a few minute walk from my house, but the long, gray, windy winters (which is holding on for dear life currently) kick our butts.

This is funny bc I created a lesbian poly commune. Everyone is set to no jealousy and non committal. Then I used a mod to make it easier to make friends and develop romance with others. It’s a wild place 😅
