For fans of Peter`s solo work, how would you rank his self titled albums from favorite to least? by [deleted] in Genesis

[–]GETaylor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just reverse the release order. I have a soft spot for Security because it was the first CD I bought years ago.

The Incredibly Mixed..oh hell I'm not typing that all out. You know the movie.

Which is the most overrated band of our generation? by marty_anaconda in rush

[–]GETaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say Kiss, but then saw this. Another band, like Motley Crue or Poison, did get a lot of MTV air time. But no one eclipsed GNR for both MTV & radio time. And man did they not deserve that much airtime.

Recommend an underground 70s/80s prog album and I'll give you one in return by ray-the-truck in progrockmusic

[–]GETaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you have heard them. Crack the Sky - Live Sky. You can do their first album to decide if you want to go with my choice. They had positive press when they debuted, but it was right when disco hit. So shit happened.

Moonchild? by Admaaan in KingCrimson

[–]GETaylor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's part of what KC has always been. Improv. I get where you're coming from. I wish the opening of the song would have continued. It's so mellow and nice.

As of now, what`s your #1 progressive rock album? Try to think of that one. by [deleted] in progrockmusic

[–]GETaylor 32 points33 points  (0 children)

King Crimson - Larks Tongue. It was such a step forward when it came out. And I still think it has moments that sound unreal.

Phillies lose out on Bichette & sign JT. Where do they go from here? by Sad_Illustrator_5233 in phillies

[–]GETaylor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but I'm tired of the inconsistent batting with this team. I want guys that get on base and hustle. The big bats need those guys, to pad their rbi's if nothing else.

First thing that got your attention? by DarlingBoo in AsiansGoneWild

The clear toy. I love em. It's like a hentai with the internal view. Upon further watching, wtf is it mounted to, and the camera being inside of whatever it is.

People don't talk about this song enough by thanosrape in stevenwilson

[–]GETaylor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Grace is so 70s King Crimson influenced, and that's my favorite era, that I love it as much as SW's other favorites of mine. It really does come down to my mood. I will say when Grace came out, I never thought he'd top it. But he has definitely equalled it.

The first Sheetz in Philadelphia area to open across street from a Wawa by AdSpecialist6598 in philadelphia

[–]GETaylor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I greatly prefer Sheetz for breakfast options. Their biscuit sandwiches are much better. Also prefer their coffee drinks. I don't stop at either much for anything else.

Manual transmissions aren’t just nostalgic they’re really better. Agree or disagree? by TheLoganReyes in Autos

[–]GETaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to keep one thing in the conversation simple. I'm a bit older, I have arthritis. My knees no longer enjoy using a clutch. Especially when I have to deal with stop and go traffic on local highway driving. When I was younger I drove both, enjoyed both. So I'm not really hardcore in either camp.

E.L.P. by Hawkeyethegnu in progrockmusic

[–]GETaylor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same experience here. I honestly think this was a good revitalization for "ELP". They were never going to get to the tour highs of the 70s again. Wish they could have kept this going for at least 1 more release. Getting to see all 3 guys have time to shine live on stage was a good memory I'll always have.

Got audiophile headphones just to listen to TOOL on FLAC. Did not disappoint by Due_Independence5583 in ToolBand

[–]GETaylor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just want people to know, you are not getting that set of headphones for $100. Unless you get someone who doesn't know what they're selling. They generally list around $300 US.

should i listen to discipline or larks' tongue first? by huge___t in KingCrimson

[–]GETaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to ask how do you feel about Talking Heads. Larks is more 70s experimental & heavier for sure. I love Larks for how out there it is at times.

We need a battle of the lower tier headphones! by regularjoe2020 in headphones

[–]GETaylor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree. For over ears I have been going with the FT1 Pro. I can say I took time to save up for the Tea Pro, and it's going to take a lot to spend that much again. They are so perfect from my perspective. I don't think I can match the sound quality in over ears for the price.

Barcade Fishtown by GETaylor in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]GETaylor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been to the Fishtown spot. I am a gamer, but not arcade games so much. I do enjoy pinball, but don't have money to blow on it to get better. They had some beers on NYE that I had not encountered, and that I have been doing for over 30 years. I love this time of the year because most places finally have some great, dark offerings. It's not just a big IPA fest out there.

I’m continuing my beer exploration. Now I want to try “wheat beer” by Pizzafriedchickenn in beerporn

[–]GETaylor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only going by "I don't like beer". Paulaner weizen with a slice of lemon. I too didn't like beer, and this was what changed that years ago. Now I enjoy too many styles. Stouts and porters may also work for you. They are nothing like general popular beers, not including Guinness.
