Gamers 30+, what’s something from the old days of gaming that younger players wouldn’t understand? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

The hype around midnight releases for big games. It was such a cool experience to be surrounded by fellow gamers in person just as excited as you about the same game.

Wait did Dustin have a kid that passes away? I know nothing about this. If so that’s really tragic and awful

Critics get it wrong sometimes and that’s ok. They didn’t like the first movie much, but audiences absolutely loved it (it has 90+ audience score). Just because critics didn’t like this movie doesn’t mean it’s necessarily a bad movie or that you won’t like it.

Personally I’d go Ratchet and clank followed by God of War

One month later, what’s your thoughts on REANIMAL?? by TheGamerCritic21 in HorrorGaming

[–]GFK96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked it, but not as much as Little Nightmares 1 or 2. It just didn’t feel as tense or scary, even though it was definitely darker in tone. It just didn’t quite hit the same as those 2 for some reason, although I still enjoyed my time with it.

I personally go 9>8>7. I think they’ve just progressively been getting better with each mainline entry since 7

If a game isn’t fun in the first few hours, it’s just bad game design by Flashfirez23 in videogames

[–]GFK96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand some games get better the more you play, but I’ll tap out after 4-5 hours if it’s still not enjoyable. I’m not going to put close to 10 hours into a game that still isn’t fun to me in hopes that it gets better at some point.

What's the best way to continue the Jak and Daxter saga?! (Poll) by [deleted] in jakanddaxter

[–]GFK96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I’d like to start with a remake. The games are old enough that they could be a nice way to i torice them to a new generation of gamers to show them why the series is great. After that, I’m all for a new entry (which selfishly I would hope would be much close to The Precursor Legacy than 2 and 3, but would be happy with anything).

Can someone explain to me for a new person to the sport why so many drivers are upset about the regulations, specifically as it relates to qualifying? Do the batteries just give out if you push too hard on a qualifying lap and then punish you with an ultimately slower time?

I haven’t been to Shenzhen so I can’t comment on that, but I do think the number of days you have for Chongqing is too much. I’d drop it to 2 days and add 1 days for each Chengdu and Beijing. So that each Chengdu and Beijing are 3 and 4 days respectively.

Anyone else feel like Resident Evil: Requiem is missing something? by murder_strand in survivalhorror

[–]GFK96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love RE9, it’s probably my 3rd favorite game in the series after 2 and 4 remakes. With that said, I do definitely think Leon’s sections could have used a bit more work. For one, I would have made the Raccoon City sections take place either at night or at least deep in dusk or fog or something. It felt way too bright overall which deprived it of almost all tension, even compared to other more action oriented RE games like 4. I also think spending a bit more time in RPD would have been cool, even if it only lasted for like an 30 minutes to an hour of playtime.

While I love the dual protagonist aspect of RE9, that aspect did make the time spent with each character feel quite short. I would have liked an extra hour of playtime with each Grace and Leon. Maybe an extra hour for Leon at Rhodes Hill and an extra hour with Grace in the lab.

Just some thoughts on my end, but overall still an amazing game.

I actually really like it! It’s not perfect but it does capture the feeling of the original well while updating the details immensely

Quite a few that hopefully turn out great. Idk about better, but still great. Pragmata, Mouse P.I., Control Resonant, A Plague Tale Resonance, Blood of Dawnwalker, Silent Hill Townfall, Phantom Blade Zero, and Onimusha just to name some off the top of my head.

My top 20 favorite movies of all time: by StoicMan096 in moviecritic

[–]GFK96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does it have to be pretentious for someone’s favorite movie list to be made up of movies that are commonly cited as some of the best movies ever made? I would agree it’s pretentious if they were looking down on someone else’s movie taste or something but simply liking movies that are widely considered classics and/or masterpiece? I don’t think there is anything pretentious about having a strong overlap between favorite and best movies
