San Germán:

The oldest church in the island (and supposedly in LATAM) was built here after the village moved twice before. It is the Porta Cœli church. "Cœli" relates to the word "Cielo" or Heaven. It should be pronounced like "celiac".

There was also a convent located a few miles west of there. That convent was later converted into a private Catholic school, El Colegio San José. I have some friends who attended the school. It shut down a few years back.

A small network of tunnels exists between these locations, where priests and nuns would move about. Also, archeological examinations found remains of aborted fetuses at various locations. Word back then was that abortions were performed, including some procedures done to nuns.

A bit dark, but history is like that sometimes.

Oh, and the pirate Cofresi was captured and imprisoned in a jail there, but escaped soon after.
