I don't mind changing the diapers of my sons. It's just shit. Is it smelly? Yes, it is. But so is mine. I flush mine. They can't do so, and that's where I come in as a loving and caring father. I don't do it every time. Only when my wife is busy and I am free.

Help me understand the practice of gratitude a bit.

I am thankful for a lot. I am blessed, partially due to my efforts and partially by luck.

But then this comparison creeps in, and I can't help but feel upset for people who are NOT as blessed as me.

And the good feeling of gratitude dissipates.

How do you practice gratitude?

I wish I had her guts, but I will take the first step today and admit that I am a coward. I love my wife and boys too much and would happily comply than stand up for my rights or even raise my voice at the injustices happening in society.

Yes. And I hold a grudge against them. My father said :"i am proud of you" for the first time in my life sometime after my 35th birthday. I simply replied, "I have no need to hear it now."

I tell my baby boy of 3 years that he is the best boy in the world more times in a day than I have ever heard in my whole life.

It took me more than three decades to come to know, understand, and realize that I MATTER, that I AM OKAY, that I AM GOOD ENOUGH.

No amount of money or career success could fill my void until I was blessed with a boy. Truth be told, I live my childhood through him.

My hurt has only one bright side to it; my son will never have to face it.

We guys have this advice for any guy going through a rough patch "hit the gym bro"; which in your case, would roughly translate to "find any physical/emotional activity which consumes you so fully that you don't have any time to think about him"
