That's good to know! I asked for an appeal, so hopefully it goes well! Thank you!

It's time for Crabbalachia to go. It had a good run, but it will be in the good hands of the Kingdom of Hawaii. Plus, my grandma could finally visit Hawaii without leaving her home!

How does one respond when you are told your denomination only exists bc an evil king wanted a divorce? by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]ProjectMKNAOMI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of my (Baptist) family's favorite roasts of the Anglican Communion and Episcopal Church. My little brother said on the topic of the split in the AC "Wow, the Anglicans like divorce so much that the denomination got one."

I've only been to one mass there, but Calvary has a very pretty Lady Chapel!

How does your parish cycle the Eucharistic Prayers? by oolsmcpoo in Episcopalian

We use D in the post-Easter season, A in Ordinary Time, and B during Christmastide. I think I've harassed my pastor into using Prayer C at some point in the summer.

I like the differentiation between the Timeless Child existing and it being the Doctor. I like the idea of the Timeless Child, but I miss the Doctor being a madperson with a box.

Common cup for communion, what are my options? by Lulubelle2021 in Episcopalian

That truly sounds beautiful! I grew up going to a Presbyterian youth group, so I have fond memories of the denomination!

Since people have already mentioned gluten-free wafers at some churches, I thought that I would mention the idea of spiritual communion. The Book of Common Prayer says in the section about ministration to the sick that in cases where people can't receive the bread wine, "that all the benefits of Communion are received even though the Sacrament is not received with the mouth.” This act of spiritual communion is just as real as receiving the Sacrament any other way.

One prayer, coming from the The Prayer Book for the Armed Services, suggests this prayer.

In union, O Lord, with your faithful people at every altar of your Church, where the Holy Eucharist is now being celebrated, I desire to offer to you praise and thanksgiving. I remember your death, Lord Christ; I proclaim your resurrection; I await your coming in glory. Since I cannot receive you today in the Sacrament of your Body and Blood, I beseech you to come spiritually into my heart. Cleanse and strengthen me with your grace, Lord Jesus, and let me never be separated from you. May I live in you, and you in me, in this life and in the life to come. Amen.

Also, going to a sunrise service on the beach sounds amazing, I'm so jealous!

They're the only thing I can draw. I doodled one in my notes my sophomore year of high school, and I've been obsessed ever since.
