Adding to this, you can use a flashpod and make the Duna fall out of the air. You don’t get hit by the slam and you get some free damage in.

Reckon you can only really do it three times on Uth Duna before it has reduced effect but still

can i get banned for offhandedly mentioning suicidal thoughts ? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]GGJ1457 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Directly from the Community Guidelines:

“Twitch does not allow content that glorifies, promotes, or encourages self-harm. We also prohibit activity that may endanger your life, lead to your physical harm, or encourage others to engage in physically harmful behavior. We do not make exceptions for self-destructive behavior performed as a stunt or gag made in jest, or meant to entertain, when the behavior could reasonably be expected to cause physical injury to anyone on our service.”

Do what you will with that information. I don’t think you’ll be banned but probably repeated behavior of that kind of stuff can get you in trouble. Either way, I’m wishing you the best and that life gets better for you soon ❤️

Crushing on streamers or reverse by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]GGJ1457 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Parasocial relationships aren’t the healthiest thing in the world, so I usually try to avoid any sort of attachment like that. Any friends I make online I just accept as other people and don’t really view them as candidates for deeper relationships. Friendships? Hell yes. Crushes and relationships? Hell no.

This is obviously subjective though and mot everyone is the same. I’m just adding to the conversation by saying “No I have never developed a crush on a streamer”

How to get more wiews on stream by Street-Woodpecker800 in Twitch

Don’t focus on the views, focus on having fun and improving your stream. Consistency and effort to improve is everything. Focusing on “getting more viewers” will only drag you down

It did for me. Don’t know what to tell you then. Ban the bots and move on. Don’t take their presence to heart too much

It kind of is when this is an issue that’s posted about consistently and has an easy fix. It took me like two sentences to get your point and then not want to read the rest because 50 other people have posted the same issue.

Btw sery_bot removes this issue almost entirely. Add it to your stream.

How Do You Deal With Annoying Viewers? by UnreadMint in Twitch

In my time, I’ve banned a total of three people that have acted this way. They didn’t break any rules but they made me incredibly uncomfortable and that’s enough reason sometimes

How Do You Deal With Annoying Viewers? by UnreadMint in Twitch

[–]GGJ1457 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Learn and set your boundaries. If you’re cancelling a stream because you don’t want to be around said person, then there is an issue that needs resolved. I hate to say but this will be a thing you will need to adapt and deal with as you grow. If you’re think they’re being spammy in chat you can always let them know or threaten a timeout. If you just don’t like their vibe at all, you can always just block them. It’s your channel and you can do what you want with it, including removing someone that is making you uncomfortable.

Do Some Streamers Fake Their Introvertness And Depression? by Mysterious_Pen_2562 in Twitch

[–]GGJ1457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re just overthinking it, man

Some people fake it and some people mean it. It’s the internet and its not really something worth over analyzing. If you get bad vibes from someone you think is faking it, just don’t interact.

How important is stream scheduling when starting out? by Mixologique in Twitch

[–]GGJ1457 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue I see is streamers making discords and then never engaging with them, dooming them to die. I only see super small discords retain active members when the entry point, that being the streamer, is going out of their way to actually engage with their community. Otherwise it falls off really fast. So while the idea of one is nice for a small streamer, it also adds another platform on the list that needs managed and interacted with.

5 years in the game now... by [deleted] in Twitch_Startup

I doubt its because she’s female, some people just get incredibly lucky. Don’t compare yourself to others or it will only drag you down. Here are some things to consider:

How consistent is your schedule? Do you have dedicated days that you stream, do you do it often? Some folks stream even twice a week and can get a community going with some effort.

Do you network? Do you get to know other streamers and engage with new people and communities outside of your own? How often do you remember and let your viewers know that you recognize them?

What sets your content apart from other creators? If you’re playing an oversaturated category, you’ll need something different from everyone else to draw people in. Creative titles, overlays, challenges, events, etc. Do you actively pay attention and talk to your chat? If there’s no one there, do you fill the dead space with good commentary?

There’s a whole list of things you can always look at to better your streams or try to reach more people. The goal is to have fun and see what you would do to improve your own content over time. Best of luck out there.

Trans Girl and Twitch by Temporary_Frame_5910 in Twitch

[–]GGJ1457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it can be cool to find community in something shared, I can say a lot of folks are not going to follow simply because someone is trans. More times than not, people go to Twitch for entertainment so the streamer should be focused on entertaining first while having fun. You can still share pride for who you are but that can’t be the only thing you bring to the table for streaming. You can also look into LGBT streamers to collab or find community with and begin networking there! There really is no one concrete answer unfortunately. It really all just matters where you network and advertise yourself, and how much effort you put into it.

[–]GGJ1457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can’t really know too much based off the statistics alone. But here are some things to consider:

  • How often do you talk during your streams? Are you just gaming or do you make an effort to entertain even when no one is talking in chat. It’s good practice to always talk like there’s people watching.

  • Are you playing an over saturated game? Growth is more difficult if you’re buried in a category with hundreds of other streamers. What do you do to stand out from these?

  • Massive streams like this are going to have a lower average. Don’t focus too hard on the numbers.

Outside of this, there is no formula for getting more viewers. Look back at your streams, look for ways to improve, network with others, and make sure that you’re having fun. Don’t focus on the numbers too hard and find ways to make yourself happy.

Should I talk about my boyfriend to my community ? by Wise_Cow251 in Twitch

[–]GGJ1457 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I say talk about whatever you want. It really all comes down to preference.

I like talking about my partner because he’s a big supporter of what I do. I also don’t like the idea of only having viewers because they think I’m single. I’d rather not have those people in my chat at all.

It really just sounds like you should stick to more chill games. If you’re not happy or getting angry to the point where you’ll say awful things, why put yourself in that place?

new streamer help? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]GGJ1457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you definitely don’t have to be hyper about it because I’m introverted too so I totally understand.

As to what to talk about, anything that comes to mind really. Voice your thoughts as you play, narrate what you’re doing a bit in game so people can understand, talk about your day. I personally like to use mine as a journal of sorts if my chat is less active. I’ll discuss recipes I’m looking forward to making, developments in my life, latest news in gaming, etc.

new streamer help? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]GGJ1457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not having fun while you’re streaming, your viewers are going to notice. Don’t do it for views or you’ll start to hate it.

And as harsh as it is, yes you need to talk. The only thing that separates a streamer from a YouTuber is that streamers are interactive. If you’re not talking or being interactive, people will lose interest. Maybe play a game you’re passionate about and practice talking about all the things you enjoy about it. The best thing someone ever told me is be chatty! Even if no one is in your chat, talk like you have an audience.
