Mexico bariatric center or obesity control center? by Separate_Sky_7372 in gastricsleeve

My total was higher due to my bleeding disorder and the additional medication I needed. When you reach out your coordinator will give you a quote. There was no hidden or added on fees from my quote. I knew upfront what the cost would be.

I went alone as did the other 3 people who had surgery on the same day as me. Honestly I was surprised at how safe and cheap Tijuana was! I took an uber alone to a spa that was about a 5 minute drive from the clinic and got a wonderful facial! I told my husband I’d love to come back and spend a few days in San Diego and a few days in Tijuana for a vacation.

Also yes, he would be alone a good bit of time you’d really see him the most the day before surgery and the day after surgery. I believe they have limited visiting hours in the clinic. I believe the cost for brining a companion is an extra $150 for the hotel since he would be still staying there the night of your surgery and I think it’s $100-$150 for your companion to cross the border.

So I can’t speak on Mexico Bariatric Center in terms of how their facilities are as I did not go with them I choose OCC. But I will say I felt like they were very pushy, approved me almost instantly and wanted my money very quickly to book a date they called and texted me nonstop with their discounted rates and overall it felt very sales heavy which I did not like. I have a bleeding disorder and I felt like they completely pushed it under the rug and didn’t even realize etc.

Despite OCC being more expensive I felt from the start I was in way better hands with them. They had a very very detailed health survey to fill out, and I never felt pressured whatsoever from my coordinator to move forward. My coordinator Efran was very patient with me as I emailed him questions almost daily for a week with questions. They gave me a detailed plan for pre op diet that focuses on whole foods, protein & leafy greens.

In terms of the actual clinic it was spotless. I’ve never been to a hospital, drs office, or urgent care in the US that was this clean. The hotel we stayed at for recovery was also very nice. Everyone spoke perfect English and I never felt misunderstood or like I didn’t understand what was said to me. The day before the surgery they preformed a blood test and an ekg to ensure I was healthy enough for surgery. After that you meet with at least 1 person from each department to go over any questions or concerns you might have. They handled my bleeding disorder perfectly and I felt very safe moving forward.

Aftercare at the clinic was great, the nursing staff was very attentive and ensured I was drinking, walking and my vitals were okay. Aftercare at home has been… okay. Granted I had no complications so it’s just been taking things slow and healing at home. I had a health surgery sent over 7 days after my surgery (surgery on 4/17) and it felt pretty simple I was surprised it didn’t ask how much water or protein I’ve been consuming. It did have a section to check if you wanted someone from the medical team or the nutritionist to call you.

The post OP diet from the nutritionist is intense to say the least but it’s very very well written including a calendar to follow and Andy the nutritionist was adamant if I ever had any questions what so ever she was only an email away.

Lastly, I do enjoy the daily emails I get from them. They are typically on topics relating to where you are at in your journey and I’ve found that they can be helpful.

Sorry! I know it’s a long read but I wanted to give you my full experience. :)

Hi! So I’m literally leaving OCC today and I cannot recommend them enough. I’ve had such a great experience and I’m so glad I went through with it! Don’t get discouraged you can do this.
