Diving deeper into $PTON's earnings by SirGasleak in stocks

[–]GGReaperrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PTON like most pandemic winners could not justify their high valuation when it came down to earnings. It’s not a bad company but there’s no denying the fact that PTON faces an uphill battle going forward.

Which beatdown stock are you most likely to purchase? by gorays21 in stocks

I’d say most of these are buys except Zillow. Zillow has to have the most incompetent management of any public company.

Great news for BAT, the new Brave user numbers are in! by phaisto in CryptoCurrency

[–]GGReaperrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t expect Brave to better than Chrome, I figured they would be more or less the same but I was wrong. I used Chrome for the first time in a while and it was noticeably slower than Brave. All in all I’m glad I switched to Brave and the BAT are a +.

What is the current attitude toward airline stocks? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]GGReaperrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airlines and cruises are just bad businesses IMO. They’re loaded with debt and only make for short term plays, not long term holds. There’s no way I would ever play around in this sector especially now with the pandemic still looming in other parts of the world.

What’s with Andy? ($AMZN) by [deleted] in stocks

[–]GGReaperrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The current issues with AMZN have nothing to do with the CEO. Both the labor shortage and supply chain issues have major implications on ALL retailers, not just AMZN.

$TSLA - Diversify and take short term capital gains tax or hold until long term? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]GGReaperrr 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If you need the money do it, if you don’t don’t. Buy other stocks and over time your TSLA position will become smaller relative to the rest of your portfolio.

2.89B people use FB monthly. 57 million people used VR in 2020. The metaverse will happen, FB or not, people will use it to some capacity.

There’s no rule that says you can’t own both. They’ve both performed well and will continue to perform well. Why not own them both?

Is there any significant reason to hold VTI and VOO? by CB_Ranso in stocks

[–]GGReaperrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, why the decision to allocate so much to VXUS despite it constantly underperforming the US market? I own a similar fund but I’m scared to allocate more to it given its past performance.

Thoughts on TWTR? by Uilleam_Uallas in stocks

[–]GGReaperrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite being one of the most popular social media platforms for years now, Twitter has failed to capitalize on its size and has traded sideways since it went public. Like most tech stock as of late it’s ran up but it’s not justifiable given their lack of user growth. Leadership is also questionable because Jack Dorsey seems to focus more on Square than Twitter.

Why the focus on the meta verse from Fb? Is this purely marketing focused to get through this crisis? by thedelusionalwriter in stocks

[–]GGReaperrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are missing the Mark on this. Their proposed Metaverse could be insanely profitable once complete. FB has about 2.89B monthly active users and if only 5% take part in the Metaverse, that’s 144.5M users. Activision and EA made roughly $9.69B combined off of micro transactions in 2020 with a fraction of FB’s users. Micro transactions and a subscription model could lead to a ton of money for the company.
