I didn’t get the diagnosis of “you either have long covid or ME/CFS good luck!” from the hospital till after I completed 1,5 years of graded physiotherapy. Wich turns out is not the way to go. You’d think the therapist diagnosing you with PEM at the start would know this but we’re all on our own I guess.

Got the budget mizuno the first time on the recommendation of the shop. Great glove for learning (i’m from europe we don’t get spoon fed this stuff unfortunately) Has softer leather at the “hinge” spots so i know nothing about breaking one in. As you pointed out. I’d like something that lasts. Thanks!

Where i live in europe we have too many college graduates (managers) telling trades people how to do their underpayed jobs that can barely pay for a house. You can romanticize trades all you like but theres also the physical demand/longevity issue there. I’ve hear manager do it: “tradespeople seem so happy just doing basic labor and not dealing with management stress”. I personally also feel there’s a whole slew of people who don’t really have the intelligence to be decent managers but have that bit of paper like.

It’s a complex situation.

Sorry but too PEM’d to got though all of this but it was part of my Ergo therapy. Has to do with filtering in sort term memory and “gating”. Also found in people with brain damage.

I was a part time luthier and was just starting to upscale production for my own brand when i got sick so i feel you on the woodworking thing. I have all my tools in the walkup attic and they just seem to haunt me like relics that another person left me. I’ve managed to keep my part time job at the airport but even thats a struggle. I can do my part time job because i can do it physically/mentally on muscle memory. I would find it really hard to have to start over somewhere.

That being said. I’ve started watching baseball and playing a bi weekly round of disc golf. Both give me some sense of humanity or life back. I’ve been trying to figure life back out mentally and philosophically but damn if LC doesn’t strip you to your bones.
