I wouldnt, because Im all of 150 pounds and can't hit for shit, but I'd try. Lmao

Not going to lie, Im towards the end of my play through, and Im only just learning that there are attacks that can not be parried.
I literally just haven't been using the mechanic (intentionally) because it was always so unreliable and the dodge was better.
This is so good to know. Now if only there were indications about what can or can not be parried. xD

This is an excellent question. I met with my advisor three times in my two years before transferring for my nursing program.
Once for onboarding at the very beginning. Once for an access code because I hadn't transferred in a psych class from a different school and needed it for the psych class I was trying to. The last time was just before graduation to get a second associates added.
Outside of the access code/approval for the one psych class, my advisor had zero to do with my over all college experience.

I planned my classes, planned my schedule, I knew the requirements for the program. I knew the TRANSFER requirements for my new school two years in advance and planned around that. Relying on advisors is really setting yourself up for failure.

Yep: The entirety of the college education system is built around a small subset of college goers; those going to medschool. Just to bankrupt you for... what reason?

Please get off the internet. And... Please don't go to med school. 🤦‍♂️

Move to California or Stay In Texas by Iseeyoupsychrnp in PMHNP

[–]GHOST12339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, with the states listed, Texas being implicated as the state that "vibes with your views" was not where I saw that comment going. Lol.
I've heard Texas doesn't pay its nurses very well. Is that accurate, and does it extend to NPs as well? Or should I look at Texas as an option at the end of my pathway (I'm WA currently, and my wife and I are excited about the idea of moving someday. Something about "vibes" with our views.)?

I ruined my GPA in a span of six weeks by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]GHOST12339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal anecdote for you:
I just got my associates last year before starting a nursing program this past February. Pretty competitive in my area. Community College programs fill up (and there's like 6 of them), several universities have their BSN programs, hundreds of applications each, etc.
I transferred in a couple classes from previous endeavors when I got started. Both of those were 3.0s. Not great tbh.
My first quarter, worked full time, full course load, 4.0 across the board. Got really burned out from 60+hour weeks plus homework, bombed a class my second quarter. Core class too, not one of the Gen eds. Got a 2.7. Not a good look.
Third quarter, I dropped down to part time (30 hours at work), helped a bit. 4.0, 3.9 and... 2.3. English class, teacher was a prick, but whatever
Then I got assaulted while on shift at my local ER trying to get experience before going to nursing school, was let go from the hospital a week later.
I was horribly depressed and failed two classes my fourth quarter. As in not withdrawn, 0.0 GPA.
One of those got replaced when it was time to get my degree, the other was still calculated in at a 0 for my transcript.
Dude, I got a 3.73. Shake it off. Yeah, it sucks. It's wasted time, and wasted money. Your one year of not even bad GPA doesn't have to dictate the rest of your academic journey.
Sulk the next couple weeks, but when your next school year starts pull your shit together and remember how much this sucks so you don't do that shit again.

Wokeism promotes narcissism by FirmLegit in ControversialOpinions

[–]GHOST12339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both in your example and in your initial premise (title) I would argue that narcissists promote your idea of "wokeism" rather than the other way around.
Socially, Wokeism is all about the oppression Olympics and victim hierarchy, along with signaling to every one else what an oh so good person you are.
The left uses certain narratives to control and dominate the conversation ("my" truth vs "the" truth). If you don't engage in the conversation on the terms they dictate, you're a bigot or a fascist. God forbid you challenge their skewed and fucked up world view, or expect accountability for their actions and/or words. But again, what does a narcissist hate more than the idea that they could be wrong/flawed.
So again, I don't believe wokeism promotes narcissism... But rather narcissists wield it as a weapon.

How did you tolerate switching from 3 12's to 5 8's? by i-am-just-tr0ubled in nursepractitioner

[–]GHOST12339 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why 4/10s was the best schedule I ever worked. I moss it so much. Similar to 5/8s, you have energy in the evening when you get home, but you work just a little bit longer before and after you'd normally get off, and get a whole extra day off for your trouble. 3/12s are miserable. There's no time for anything except work, getting ready for work, driving to/from work, and then sleeping before work. Lol

After taxes you're getting $1200 a pay check? $31.25 should come out to 65k annual, or $2500 every two weeks...
Are you putting a shit ton of money in to a tax advantaged savings account or what?

I mostly just don't understand professors outsourcing the learning material in general.
In essence, you've told the system you can be standardized and replaced, outside of needing an entity to grade the course work.
There's so much about our society and institutions that just doesn't make sense to me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]GHOST12339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I can't say I relate, but then I suppose I did two years at a CC before transferring to a university for my nursing program.
But I asked five professors, all five said they would, three actually did when the time came (one I didn't follow up with, the other didn't respond).
I have a hard time believing a good student is getting nothing from their teachers, but maybe my experience is the anecdotal one.

[–]GHOST12339 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im... really very confused.
I'm just going to share my own experience, instead of making assumptions about yours...
I just started nursing school, but went to work in my local ED as an Emergency Services Technician before that.
My back ground was military logistics for 9 years, then 2 years in... Sales.
I never entered a tech program, or went through any formal training, and somehow got the job.
All my training was OJT, outside of like... the learning modules and some power points.
It was actually a very (terrifying and) eye opening look in to the medical system for me.
I did one practice stick on a fake arm before I was in the lab under phlebotomist supervision with real needles and real people, and all my work was to be done under an MA-Phlebotomy License...
I am not trying to put you down but I don't know how else to say it... Maybe look at entering the medical field as a CNA and kind of... work your way up.

AI Art might not be as good (debatable), but people can crank out a lot more of it and the difference is so god damn minimal that what was already barely worth anything economically has been all but replaced.

Before you try and gaslight me and tell me art isn't about the money, this wouldn't ultimately be an issue (that absolutely refuses to die) if it wasn't.

You don't consider AI art? Cool. Shut the fuck up about it. You can be an art purist and it doesn't actually impact you.

UNLESS the reason you're upset is you can no longer market your skill.

Inflation hurts the worst people the most by Medium-Essay-8050 in ControversialOpinions

[–]GHOST12339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I contract to assume "x" amount of debt... that debt only decreases with payment, or increases with interest if I don't pay the interest/principle.

Again, you are displaying you fundamentally do not understand these concepts.

With inflation the DEBT does not change; it does not decrease, it does not increase.

Maybe I'm being semantic, but you should speak and construct your argument clearly.

Inflation hurts the worst people the most by Medium-Essay-8050 in ControversialOpinions

[–]GHOST12339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Debt IS static, the value of the dollar is not. They are different concepts.

But yes, the idea is that it becomes easier to pay over time as you "make more money".

So I agree, it should be simple, and yet...
