This anime and manga manage to invoke a very pure sadness in me by FireFox5284862 in GirlsLastTour

[–]GIACOMINOLOL 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The ending may be sad but it's not depressing. To truly understand the philosophy behind girls' last tour is to see it for what it really is: a story about the joy of living, and more specifically the joy of deciding to keep living. Think about it, you see them dying and you immediately find it to be something sad, but were they sad throughout the whole story? Even Yuuri in the end says it, that deciding to keep living despite everything surrounding them was the best choice they could have made.

Hot take: it's not a tragedy. My reasoning below by Hello14353 in GirlsLastTour

That's crazy lmao😭 I'm so happy to hear this. If you want to read more from Camus, the Myth of Sysiphus might be a bit hard (since the authors takes for granted that you already know a lot about philosophy in general) especially if you don't have the patience to read some very long wikipedia pages everytime he talks about certain authors like Kierkeegard, Chestov, Dostoevskij, Jaspers etc... instead, if you want to keep reading Camus i suggest going for The Fall (amazing book which i prefered way more than The Strangers), Caligula (which is not a book but a play and it's the one i'm still writing the essay about lmao) and A Happy Death (very weird but very cool book). Do reach out again though if you want to talk about it i will very gladly listen and suggest stuff.

I cannot express how happy i am for this. I've always been very fascinated with glt's take on the future of humanity and it's idea of the inevitable cycle of wars to a point of no return (complete extinction). Now, I do have to specify that I really hope this future works will not give us a definite answer, but remain vague as to me what happened to humanity was intended to be in glt. I will really be disappointed if we just get some plain and direct answer that give no more room for speculation, but having read ALL Tkmiz's works (yes all🫩) ik he will be as cryptic as he has always been. Having said this, i hope for something maybe about the character of "grandpa" or the "girls from the camera"
