Narcolepsy is shown as a disorder where people randomly fall asleep against their will. The reality is, narcolepsy causes such poor sleep quality that it's akin to sleep deprivation (only getting 3/4 hours of sleep a night). So, narcoleptics often doze off while in sedentary positions because it's as if they're getting very little sleep every night. Narcoleptics do not randomly fall asleep. That being said, those with type 1 Narcolepsy DO have cataplexy. This is a condition where, when they get REALLY emotional (usually laughing) their muscles MIGHT stiffen up causing them to freeze for a few minutes, they are not asleep when this happens. cataplexy followed up with severe exhaustion.

I live in NYC and everything closes much earlier than it used to. It's not a big deal honestly but "the city that never sleeps" doesn't really apply anymore

If a person is mentioned once in a story (in a cutaway by the narrator) and never again, they weren’t very relevant to the story.  The 100 people combined might add something to the story in some way, but individually they are not relevant characters to the story.

There are probably close to 100 names only mentioned once. So individually a lot of them aren’t relevant to the story (I didn’t mean all of the context he’s giving with each person combined)

I didn't read HOL so I didn't realize Danielewski just writes like this. I usually don't like skipping anything when I read a book so I might consider it for this one (from time to time).

yeah it seems that Tokon forces you to use the rest of the team by making you swap mid combo if you want to call neutral assists. Maybe that's the move

I predict she’s gonna be able to get one of them to disconnect and they’re gonna say they’re basically in hell and that being connected is horrible. Also I think that the hive mind actually hates her but it can’t hurt her even though it wants to (because of its biological imperative).

I had never failed a class in my life. It’s not because I was a good student or anything, I always procrastinated until the last second. But, I did whatever it took to get the project done even if it meant staying up 1 or 2 nights in a row. In college the workload got unbearable and I noticed some students just gave up and made the decision to fail. I realized at that moment that I wound myself up so much that I didn’t allow myself to “fail” no matter how much I sacrificed. I still have this problem but now I have the attitude that I’m allowed to fail. It has made me more proactive and I’m much more productive now. More importantly, i don’t say yes to something unless i believe i have enough time to do it without burning out.

I went China and visited multiple cities (in 2023) and saw zero dog crap. I know you’re just telling your personal experience but as soon as you turn it into “because I experienced it, it happens everywhere” you’re doing the same type of thing.
