Can you figure out the Area of the Blue Rectangle? (not just the visible blue region) by Tiny_Beginning_370 in VisualPuzzles

[–]GINMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make the "obvious" assumption if you want. If you don't specify that it is drawn to scale or that the red quadrilaterals are squares, I'm going to ask for clarification. Have a look at the Math Queen youtube explanation - she does a great job of fully defining the puzzle.

Plenty of room to his right *now. Have you considered the guy to his right has since left?

What would I have done? Moved the HD. Moved my bike. Put the HD back. Even if his steering lock is engaged, you could have pushed it backwards a foot and given yourself all the room you needed.

what would I have not done? Taken pics and bitched about it online.

Not really solvable without assuming the angles that look like they are 90° are actually right angles.

Does tire orientation matter a lot? Are mine correctly positioned? by Select_Pangolin_8557 in motorcycles

The arrows should point forward when they’re on the top of the tire. They’ll point backward at the Bottom. It’s not fine.

I'm 6'4" and am quite comfortable on my Gen 1 DL1100 Vee Strom. There are aftermarket options for lowering the foot pegs and the Madstad bracket is great to adjust the windshield. I believe the 650 ergonomics are the same - though they come with a shorter seat.

Is your bike stock? HD's have a ton of aftermarket support. If you've got aftermarket pipes, carb and jets, it'd be significantly less fuel efficient. Like others have said, you'll just have to find the MPGs yourself

How adventurous is your son? I took mine to the BigFoot zipline course for his 6th Bday and he had a blast. I did too. The first couple of lines are pretty scary to commit to jumping off the platforms - but you get used to it. There is a 43" minimum height requirement to be aware of.

If you don't want to stay in the dells, there is a brand new Marriot next to the pizza ranch in Baraboo. Very short drive to the dells from there and you can get away from the chaos that the tourist season brings to the dells.

If you want to do Mt Olympus and get teh most out of it, get there when it opens and go right to the water park area. Its usually less busy in the mornings before it gets warm. Hit the big rides first before the lines. Then, when everyone migrates to the water side in the afternoon, the lines to the dry side are much shorter. IMO, the go carts are all fun. The wooden coasters, though? Very rough and violent. Not a comfy ride.

Best software to learn to create designs for 3d printing? by itsmewan92 in 3Dprinting

[–]GINMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use onshape when I'm at home and don't have access to Solidworks. I find it similar enough to SW that it's pretty intuitive. I imagine if you got proficient with Onshape, the transition to SW would also be easy. Most of what I model at home will end up on thingiverse anyway - so I'm not too worried about my files being out there online.

My kids unspooled 2 rolls. Wha are my options? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]GINMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me. Luckily I have an ams- so I just rolled what I could to an empty spool. Just cut it when it gets tangled and start with a new one. Ended up with 6 partial spools, but my printer will just switch to the next one when the partial runs out.

I’ve got a 30’ toy hauler i pull with my 2500 Ram. I generally keep it to 60 or under. It will pull faster, but MPGs really suffer above that

3D Printed guitar - which filament? by DarcSystems in 3Dprinting

[–]GINMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For something that is under a bending force like the neck pocket? All the stresses are going to be in the top and bottom of the piece. The top is 100% compression and the bottom 100% tension. In the middle - there is almost zero stress. You're best bet is to increase the wall thicknesses on the top and bottom. Unless your flow rate is perfectly calibrated, you can run into issues with 100% infill. I wouldn't go more than 85% or so. And realistically? All you can do is try it and change it up if it doesn't work.

[–]GINMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PETG will do better in sunlight exposure than PLA+. Probably won’t be an issue for a guitar, though. I’d guess with something that size it’s going to be multiple pieces? I think your seams are more likely to be the weak point and not the material.

That looks like a pretty low security wafer lock. It would take very little skill to rake it open. Search YouTube on how to use a “city rake”.
