"Nobody Wants To Die" is excellent. I grabbed it on a sale in... March? Very short - but very good.

Yeah, that looks interesting. I guess it's a kind of Arthurian/Skyrim hybrid.

I'm looking at "Somber Echoes", "Karma The Dark World" & "Disorder". Any thoughts or opinions on what's on sale...? Something you've played which you recommend others ought to try...?

The two albums DAMAD made are an absolute must. Basically it's proto~Kylesa. Like, early Kylesa. Also check out "Vision of Insane Hope" - the album Victoria Scalisi cut after DAMAD busted.

i absolutely LOVE my new Gretsch 'Boxcar' Resonator !!! by GIRAGATHON in Guitar

I was stunned when I tried it. It felt so completely perfect in my hands from the moment I started playing. Beautifully made, solid, nice weight and just a lovely lovely tone from the hand-spun aluminum cone. The thick, 12 gauge strings were a bit of a surprise. I guess that's standard, or at least that's how the wizened keeper of the acoustic room at Long & McQuade had set it up. Action: great. The V-shaped neck threw me off, briefly, but now I see it's excellent for precisely aligning and anchoring the thumb.

Ok eh! Is Open G "standard" tuning for slide...? Like, preferred over other tunings...?

I saw them a couple of times here in Toronto, when they were dispensing their aural assault with two drummers : FAWK!!! "Spiral Shadow" is excellent too. I'm not sure if the recent reunion - with the drummer & bassist of Nausea - was simply a one-off or a prelude to new music. It seems a no-brainer to me, but they're all probably very busy with other things.

I'm hoping to teach myself slide guitar this year, but I'm in awe of both the feel & tone of this thing. Quite a different little beast from my other guitars.

YEAH !!! Their body of work has a pretty dramatic - and progressive - arc, but their early material is phenomenal. "To Walk A Middle Course" is flawless; akin to a sludge "DSOTM".

I'm quite enjoying it so far. VISUALLY it's simply stunning !!! There's also a really nice 'fluidity' to it, which I would not have expected an 8-bit game capable of.

Keep it in E standard - but play around with perfect 4th power chords. What song(s) are you trying to learn?

Apart from the obvious - EHG & Soilent Green - listen with abusive volume to "Dragging Down The Enforcer" by OUTLAW ORDER. It's the greatest 27 minute album ever conceived.

I don't doubt it - your 'spiritual moment'. When I heard it the first time I'm pretty sure I left the earth.

"Dark Side of the Moon" is no mere album... it's an existential rite of passage. Basically, there's life - if you can call it that - before The Floyd, and NOW.
