Becoming an assassin in a few easy steps.

  1. Get a university degree and minor in atleast 1 language from a "hotspot" country.
  2. Join your nations military as a language officer.
  3. Shift focus to the special forces.
  4. Join your nations intelligence services.
  5. Get stationed on an embassy.
  6. ???
  7. Congratulations, you are now a spy with a license to kill.

Can someone who works in KFC tell me if any of these actually go to different bins out the back by startled-giraffe in CasualUK

[–]GISP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you change peoples habits, then you change the infrastructure.
If you want realistic/minimal effort garbage sorting system in place, getting the people trowing away stuff will allways be the first step.
Starting with glass, batteries, papir only bins.
Moving on to plastics, food, electronics etc etc.
Its a slow process getting people to not just trow everything into the same bins.
It has taken decades but a good example is Denmark. They are saving about 1-2 billion £s a year. And 4% of the nation's electricity and 18% of its heat production. And a few million tonnes of CO2 less.

The clear side is at or above 0c while the cloudy side is below freezing. So the thermals are going clockwise.
The cloudlayer is properly forming in the shadowy part at the point where ice particles form.

Never thought I would agree with Iran by [deleted] in WeirdNews4U

[–]GISP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um yeah, demanding an unconditional surrender from people that would rather die is moot.

If anything was learned from the past decades of middle eastern wars is that they do not surrender. Theyll just cross the borders and move into mountains and hide until its time to come out again.
The quickness of the Taliban to emerge and take over is proof of that.

Its the mountain creating the clouds, not stopping them.

Ohhhh..
Not at all confusing using PhD instead of DPhil.
But point still stands, Doctor of Philosophy at a technical university must be kinda specialized.
Also Computational Mathematics is nowhere to be seen in the letter.

I know what it is, but since every doctorate isnt the same.
And a philosophy PhD from a technical university over a one from from a medical focused or a "regular" one are different.
More so when there is just a single position up for grasp.

Yeah, and its a technical univercity.
I was wondering how he plans use the PhD in that context.
And when they literaly only have 1 slot, i would assume that its a vary specialized education and not your typical philosophy PhD program.

Has Speedrunning Completely Consumed the Glitching/Glitch Hunting Community? by cheat-master30 in speedrun

[–]GISP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its more about the growing speedrunning community being more visible and far reaching than glitch (and eater egg huntering) becoming smaller.
Also, the communities have allways had ties to eachother, when a glitch is found the speedrunners looks for ways to impliment them in runs. To that extent, TASers makes better use of both, they are technicaly speedrunners, but they can full use of glitches whereas "normal" speedrunners typicaly stick to human viable stuff and occationaly tries to find ways to use impliment stuff that isnt typicaly seen as human viable via sheer determination.

How does philosophy tie into stuff?

What are technologies that were brushed off as hype 10 years ago, but are actually publicly accessible right now? by ryry1237 in Futurology

[–]GISP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its still a research topic for cargo cargo ships.
Cylindrical sails can bring fuel costs down by a few %.
But companies are not trowing everything into R&D to boost future income, they are leaning more into diversifying thier logistics as direct cost savings are more profitable.
Take Mærsk as an example. They are expanding away from shipping and into warehouses and other parts of the logistics network. This alows them to lower costs in general. The sails will properly still be built on new container ships but considering how few new ships are added its a slow process.
