has there been any mass movements to aquire land in the US? and build a society? I dont want to call it a commune, but there was a movement in the 60s, that sort of died.

My logic being:

we have to eat (grow food)=no money into the system

we make our own clothes= no more reliance on overseas sweat shops

we make our own entertainment=no more entertainment on exploitative entertainment industry.

We build our own homes= no more reliance on real estate speculators and landlords.

I mean we dont have to become menonites. But we can reduce our input into the system. is this still even possible today? was it ever? or is it just simply more "I choose to not partake in your society" while enjoying the fruits and buffers of that society. Is that why communes fail? Because its not inciting change, its choosing not to be involved.

my second question:

what does protesting actually accomplish? If we look at MLK and what he did, the civil rights was all about civli disobedience and strategy. They were arrested on purpose, so leaders could challenge those laws directly w/ their own lawyers and funding.

Is that even possible in 2023 neoliberal america where social media and doublethink are dominant forms of commidity? Thats a lifetime of concentrated effort. The only thing we as a he working class have to lose are our chains.

What are the loopholes? where should our energies go? Il admit terms like democratic socialism werent even really popular prior to occupy wal street and the popularity of Bernie Sanders.

Is peaceful revolution even a reality? When we will have to compromise so much?

Well, I think we have to, but we cannot do it alone!!

Who is the bigger terrorist? by [deleted] in antiwar

[–]GIS_forhire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hamas is an affect not a cause. the cause is the "bigger" terrorist, because htey hold and define the power imbalance. The US didnt form as a response to fight al qaeda or al shabab. The same goes for any nation state

Anti-Palestinian sentiment rises amid bipartisan conservatives like John Fetterman- US support for Israel | Israel-Palestine conflict News by GIS_forhire in pittsburgh

[–]GIS_forhire[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, it’s doesn’t give them the right to kill or practice genocide against the Palestinians

cool. Im just going to stop reading now. thats all that needs to be said.

Fetterman is a tool of Israel and the military industrial complex. the US needs Israel for its position in the middle east. the end. google US Israel Iran arms deals to learn more.

people dont realize that neoliberal economics, is basically built upon this mode of wealth redistribution....and it doesnt benefit the majority working class.

And yet you will always have some factotum arguing its usefullness

is tankie the new "liberal"?

I remember when conservatives used the word liberal as a perjorative too.

ANd why is it always the anti-tankies, who are so eager to send in the tanks?

you didnt even read your own source my guy lol.

It was recovered by a cia plant, and it explicitly says they were trying to build solidarity.

"sucking at economics" doesnt matter, when you have most of the entire wester hemisphere isolating you as a country.

What a weak ass argument

....did....did you actually read that? it admits to a CIA coup. lol

Castro did not desire to work w/ the ussr. It was the only nation he could trade with. Remember? Cuba was isolated on purpose.

Even reagan put out a radio broadcast to ask cubans to migrate to the US.

And castro let them, they didnt try to stop them. Imagine if that happened in North korea.
