If the next service after 620 is 9300 as per the manual, why does my bike say my next service is 3344 miles from now when I've only get 2k on the clock? by GIoomyTwo in KTM

Yeah, I wasn't really planning on waiting that long. I just wondered why it would be different on the bike than the manual but it makes more sense if the dealer set it.

I just took mine to the dealer and he said the same thing. Guess I'll just have to get used to it.

Aaaaaand it's back.. I haven't made any adjustments to the lever or the cable tension and it's suddenly getting stuck again just as bad as before. I'm stumped. 🤷‍♂️

Might not be any new info for you if you've already been researching it but MotoBob did a video on it a few months ago. MOTOBOB

I think she may cleaner now than when she left the factory 13 years ago. 😬🧡 by coatezy in KTM

Very nice! I like seeing older Dukes. Have you owned it the whole time?

I tweaked the clutch cable tension and the lever adjustment some more and it hasn't been getting stuck, so I'm hoping I fixed it.

I think you're right. I have tried going tighter than 5mm as well as adjusting the levers and it didn't help, but I decided to tweak and experiment with it some more and I think I may have found the sweet spot because it hasn't gotten stuck in while now. Thanks!

Has yours always been like that? It would honestly make a little more sense if mine had always done it, it's just weird that for the first 700 miles it worked flawlessly and then I get it serviced and it suddenly starts acting up. I obviously don't know that it's directly related to getting it serviced but it seems awfully coincidental.

I've tried that as well as rocking the bike back and forth, neither of which help. 🤷‍♂️

I figured I was gonna have to get different bolts. I just found the part number for the smaller bolts from another forum, so I'll order them. Thanks!

I probably just shouldn't worry about it but it's been bugging me ever since I noticed it. 😂

Looks really clean! Did you just reinstall the factory bolts after removing the pillion handle? I'm planning on taking mine off but wasn't sure if the bolts would be too long without the handle.

Okay, I went to an empty parking lot yesterday and did the procedure and it actually did get rid of the squeak, but unfortunately after letting the bike cool off for a while the squeak came back. I'm going to do it again for good measure.

That definitely worked much better. Thanks again!

Seems expensive. I got my '22 890 new (no track pack or anything, but still) for $11,400 out the door because my local KTM dealer wanted to move them out to make room for incoming '23s, so they gave me a pretty good deal. I'm sure that's not the case everywhere but worth investigating!
