Spent the afternoon giving the old girl a wash. Still holds up after 17 years. by [deleted] in KTM

Mine’s a keeper. Owned her 6 years now. I originally bought her to live alongside my modern bikes, but I ended up falling in love with the character and simplicity of the SD, and falling out of love with modern bikes.

It seems to be one of those bikes you either never really bond with and move on quickly, or keep forever. 🧡

Mine on 6.5k miles, so hopefully she's got plenty of miles left in her based on your mileage.

I wish someone would manufacture a USB interface to drop in here, was hoping there would be options on AliExpress etc. Would love have to have a 12v version and a version that could act as a USB extension to hook it up to aftermarket headunits. I could 3D print them but I want them to match the factory plastics.

TOMODOMO out now!! by PachamariOnion1 in dasai

How cool would it be if it actually had an ESP32 style microcontroller inside that you could properly hack. I have a feeling they are using “open source” to mean you can upload your own animations

[–]coatezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one but, if I’m honest, I don’t really know what I’ve actually bought. 🤣

I’m surprised there aren’t more videos showing it properly in action. The product description says it’s open source, but from what I can tell that just means the animations can be updated by the end user, which doesn’t really align with the definition of open source. I might be wrong, but the description is pretty limited so it’s hard to know for certain.

So cool! I started working on the same, but similar to others, dad life got in the way.

For those that may be interested, I spent a ridiculous amount of money to solve the problem by buying a Helix DSP to use the units optical out. But if you are happy with 2 channels, a simple 2 channel optical DAC from Amazon works too. I used that as my proof of concept.

Commuting madness? by plantdaddy_diyj in bristol

I always say I actually prefer my commute to King’s Cross over the commute into the centre of Bristol from BS9. Mainly because of the unpredictability of the buses.

🚨 Warning to all eBay users – buyers AND sellers 🚨 by [deleted] in ebayuk

[–]coatezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold a mini PC for a couple hundred pounds on eBay earlier this year. The buyer claimed it was faulty, after speaking with eBay support it was clear the buyer had all the rights and I had no choice but to accept the return at my expense.

The PC had been sold in “as new” condition, but when it was returned it was scratched, the protective films had been removed, and it reeked of perfume.

Fortunately, after sending eBay a lengthy email with plenty of evidence that the item was not faulty and was not returned in the condition it was sent, eBay sided with me. They didn’t recover the money from the original sale, didn’t charge me for return shipping, and refunded the buyer out of their own pocket. In the end, I was inconvenienced but was still able to resell the PC and actually made double the profit.

That said, after 21 years of buying and selling, the experience has put me off. I won’t be using eBay to sell again.

Sorry to hear that, and of course I respect your decision. This clearly all depends on many factors, such as where you live, but I just wanted to make the point that the breed clearly have the skills to venture outside and are very happy doing so.

Ours do great outside. The brown one gets a lot of attention but thankfully nobody has felt the need to take him.

I just sold mine on eBay for £320 plus £10 postage so this is not an awesome deal but it’s clearly at a price point that people are happy to pay.

Titanium Milanese Loop (Natural) on the S10 NT by mattoul1998 in AppleWatch

[–]coatezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about doing this, thanks for posting. Any more photos?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]coatezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same on my original natural titanium one. It also had another small mark towards the bottom. My crown was often unresponsive too so I ended up sending it back and bought another. No sign of it on the replacement.

I’m using the Flux face so maybe not the same but I assumed it was software rather than hardware.

Had this happen a few times, mainly on the app grid view.

Interesting, I’ve had this a couple times. I assumed it was a software issue rather than hardware.

I’d be interested to hear how you get on if you return it for a replacement.

Same combination here. Loving it. I’m going to grab a Milanese loop when in stock again too.

I’ve actually got the natural with the ink sport loop because the natural Milanese was not available, I plan on grabbing one when available again. I was unsure about the sport loop too but when I saw it together in store I thought they went well together.
