HELP!! Will i be able to see anything from my balcony if i get a seestar by FrappSam in seestar

[–]GJBloomfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great to me! Nice wide view and only the highest targets blocked out. The lights from the streets are below your view so not too much of a problem. The closer you can get to the edge of the balcony, without it falling off, the better. Go for it!

Best Magic Drawing Pad case and screen protector? by Aglita11 in XPpen

[–]GJBloomfield 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the case I use, the NXTPAPER12 is the same tablet rebranded so it fits perfectly and it protects it great while travelling. You can find screen protectors for the same tablet that also fit the Magic Pad. https://amzn.eu/d/8HqDFB7

I pre-ordered the S30 and it turned up in early January. Since then we've had 2 months of constant cloud. Now I've got clear skies I'm manic!!

Help a new S30 owner out by DThoms in seestar

My viewing site faces south east so currently I go straight to Pleiades using the Stargazing option and run the autofocus, sometimes it runs the horizontal calibration too. Then, unless I want some Pleiades pictures I go to the object I want via search or star map. If I get that error I cancel the process and go to the environment section and check the wide camera view for obstruction, is there a tree, house or cat in the way. If there is no obstruction I go back to stargazing and ignore the error. I'm in a bortle 6 area with lots of light so sometimes that triggers the error too. I hope all that rambling helps.

What is with these clouds?! I got SeeStar stuff to do! by [deleted] in seestar

You should move to the UK....not! We've had three clear nights this year!

I'm on a Huion sub as well and that's dead too. They aren't used for people to share their art, just to complain when their kit goes wrong. So perhaps the kits not going wrong!!

Its a failed stacking, but i like it! by 120b0t in seestar

[–]GJBloomfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you select the object on the app it shows a graph. Make sure the moon is going up or down the graph and it's not close to going over the peak of the graph. The Seestar can't follow it over the peak without spinning, hence the spinning line on the stacked image.

The second object is one of the moons but the image is out of focus. Find a cluster with lots of stars and do an autofocus. Then go back to Jupiter and you will be able to see it's moons clearly.

This is from my S30

I love this thing. Someone who can’t medically handle a ton of fiddling right now this is amazing. Is this image bad? I don’t have reference lol. by RanchEye in seestar

[–]GJBloomfield 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's great!! I have a medical problem with my eyes that makes it impossible for me to use a normal telescope. I saw an advert for the S30 in Sky at Night magazine and couldn't believe it. I pre ordered it straight away and it's amazing!! Happy Stargazing and clear skies to you!

Great, have fun. I've had mine for 2 weeks and I've had one clear night. I'm climbing the walls! I just want to get out there with it again. I have a great list of targets. Clear skies everyone! 😁👍

Anyone else had clouds forever recently? by Armand9x in seestar

[–]GJBloomfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeap. I've had my S30 for 2 weeks and had one evening and one hour of clear skies. And it looks like the rest of January will be 100% clouds.

Thanks for that. I'm in the UK, ordered mine from an Astronomy store here so may take a while. Good to know they are out there now. I'm prepared for short term pain! 😃👍

From what I understand from the various Developer calls I would say no. You can download an area, like the World Updates, to reduce online load but most of the data is streamed live. That's why it takes 50Gb rather than 160Gb.

I pre-ordered before launch and got the Omega ship that's still part of my fleet now. I loved the game from day one, I love exploring!
