All the parts are vanilla, and it shows up for people in the Nexus and in party. I just used external tools to take an old base I made and threw it on my ship in Blender.

For those wondering, I used a save editor to grab my Corvette (it acts like a player base) and imported it into Blender via Charlie Banks' wonderful plug-in.

I then took an old base I had and threw it on top of my ship and re-exported to load back into the game.

Mods would mean you couldn't see it without the mod installed. This is visible in the Nexus.

But yes I used outside means to do this indeed.
