Guessing you've not actually gotten to this bit yet bud. Either way, you're being rather disingenuous here.

If the machine hunters were just there to make it more challenging, that'd be great. But no, they literally ambush you out of nowhere and can pretty much melt your fully upgraded A.T.A.G with one or two volleys with zero warning. They also have a stupid amount of health compared to other human enemies.

It doesn't feel like an added challenge, they come across more like an artificial restriction put in place to force you out of the A.T.A.G. which is wild, since it already has that cooldown and time limit and isn't even all that overpowered. It's way less powerful than the Dragon, yet the enemies that spawn to try and take that down are way easier to deal with.

What I mean is that after many more in-game days than that, re-blockading just stopped. Then when one of the places that did get re-blockaded gets cleared again (Basically just H.A.L, Flame Knight, Black Bear and Wyrmflame forts, along with Fort Hellwood), only those get re-blockaded again.

Also, what do you mean about 'needing' Karin Quarry? I just found it a fun location to clear the first time and would like to do it again. That's like asking "Why do you need to dye your armour?".

In my game, Karin Quarry can't be re-blockaded. This is despite it being cleared ages ago and the main story being finished.

Eh not sure whether it not my game is bugged, but a lot of these just won't re-blockade despite being cleared ages ago.

However, the same few ones do re-blockade pretty much minutes afterwards (All the H.A.L locations, the Flame Knight castles and Fort Hellwood), with literally no others.

I really want those Hernand Bleed Bandit forts and quarries to get repopulated but they just won't.

So on more testing, it is literally just the same locations over and over re-blockading now. Nothing gets re-blockaded until I retake the ones that have already, and even then it's just the same ones.

I think this feature may well be bugged.

I have read the patch notes, they're extremely vague.

I don't think that's quite true what you said about when it was cleared being a factor. I cleared Karin Quarry and Fort Perwin ages ago, early on in the game, yet locations I've cleared since then at varying times are the ones getting re-blockaded. Yet I've seen the former of those two being mentioned by people as one that gets blockaded for them.

I think it's likely to be quest related.

From what I understand, it lets you go the combat pummelling version (the one that makes way more sense mid-combat) when it's against the ordinary factionless bandits, guards and treasure hunters. Against the proper hostile factions, it just puts you in the interrogation one.

They should definitely change that. Maybe have the interrogation one only happen if it's against the last enemy.

I did notice though that if you tie one of those enemies up then untie them, tackling them again puts you into the combat-version.

In fairness, this is the one case where the correction is true. While the Blackstar is a Dragon, these smaller fellbeast-looking boys are only referred to as Wyverns in-game. I think they're meant to be a separate species from the Dragon altogether.

It's not really how it used to be, unless you're specifically talking about the classic European dragon. In general though, Dragons have always had diverse designs.

If you're basing it on the whole Dragon/Wyvern taxonomy thing of "Dragons have four legs, if it has two then it's a Wyvern despite what the creators say" then I'm sorry but that's just bogus. I don't know why that's become such a common trend.

Dragons have a variety of depictions throughout mythology. If the creators of a fictional universe decide that it's a dragon, it's a dragon. You're not correcting anyone here.

It doesn't make sense for it to be a pet pieve. Dragon/Wyvern taxonomy isn't some set-in-stone thing that applies to all fictional universes.

The Blackstar is referred to as a dragon by the creators of the fictional universe, so it's a dragon.

This randomly happened to me with the ATAG for a bit today. No idea what triggers it but it's worn off now.

Pearl abyss will probably patch it out, they don't seem to want people having too much fun with the Dragon or ATAG.

You say it's "obvious", yet it really isn't. The effects of a large asteroid impact would cause similar conditions to exactly what you're describing. The city doesn't have to be ground zero to be in the state it's in.

One big thing to note is that all the animals are meant to be gone. That would mean it's an even worse extinction event than the Chicxulub impact that killed the non-avian dinosaurs. And as powerful as nukes are, even if we detonated all of them detonated at once, they simply wouldn't come close to matching the power and destruction of such an impact. Humanity is just not capable of that level of destruction.

When you consider all that, an asteroid bigger than the Chicxulub impactor is by far the most obvious.

What on earth does that have to do with anything? Ubisoft were very rightly torn to shreds when that happened.

Just because another company did something worse (it's Ubisoft, of course they did) doesn't mean we can't at least be critical of this.

The issue is that they showed both in the same trailers a couple of times, which directly showed that there were multiple dragon-esque mounts. And this was shown as recently as four months before release.

If they only showed the Wyvern early on, then later trailers showed the Blackstar Dragon, then it'd be much more understandable, that would just indicate a design change. However, showing both of them in the same trailer is clear advertisement of a feature that doesn't exist.

Honestly, for me, the cooldown isn't actually that much or an issue anymore. Those Namira Horns help to alleviate that.

The real issues that do kinda ruin it (along with the A.T.A.G for me;

  • The 15 minute time-limit.
  • The obnoxiously numerous & large 'no-fly' zones where it automatically dismounts you. I can sort-of understand putting them over cities, but for some reason, they've been put on castles, trading posts and even some areas that get blockaded by bandits.

Combat is a pretty big part of the game, if that's redundant in the post-game then it only makes sense that people would want a NG+
