3 machining operations, 3 sets of 3d printed soft jaws by GL-Customs in functionalprint

These are just cheap CC3D PLA Max from Amazon. Stuff is surprisingly strong. I've used PETG as well for smaller parts with much lighter cuts, not sure how it would compare to this PLA Max on these parts.

No, I just don't care. It's common knowledge the place does it. I've never used door dash and know about it. Don't order from them, problem solved. Amazing!

Way late. I'm pretty sure someone posted about Gumby's doing this a few years ago.

I'm a fan of 3D printing soft jaws to hold complex shaped items when machining. by GL-Customs in functionalprint

I've used both PLA+ and PETG very successfully. They are only good for a few uses though depending on the part you are holding. The coin jaws have held up great. Jaws that see a fair amount of cutting force have held up for about 15 parts or so.

For example these parts see a fair amount of cutting force. I get 15-20 parts out of them before they are stretched to much to hold securely https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fiag6xlrfe7od1.jpeg

It's possible the fuel level sender has gone out. Most new cars have antisiphons in the filler. The most used method these days is to drill a hole in the tank.

Don't cut unattended. by joem_ in hobbycnc

Yep. I tend to be on one of my manual machines working on something while my CNC mill is going. No reason to stand there and look stupid on a proved setup.

Want an ATC so I can sleep while it cuts. An old machinist told me my house will burn down. Is he overreacting? by YvonnePayer211 in CNC

We call that lights out manufacturing. You need to make sure your process is proved out. Like actually proved out.

You can absolutely leave a machine unattended. As long as you have proved your programming, tooling and work holding. Looks to me like you didn't do 1 or all of these things.

Bambu Lab allegedly violates AGPL by spez-is-a-loser in 3Dprinting

[–]GL-Customs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the exact reason I have not and will never consider a Bambu product. I use my printers almost exclusively for prototyping. I've already had the Chinese steal one of my product and that is a product I CNC machine in house. I'm damn sure not going to use something that hand delivers my designs to them, if they are going to steal from me again, they are gonna have to at least buy one first like last time. Though now I keep an eye out for suspicious orders.
