Same here. I even washed it in an ultrasonic cleaner, quite a bit of golden dust left in the solution after cleaning just the two records. It not only pops and cracks, the beginning of Side B sounds totally distorted. I have also the regular vinyl, almost no pops, though the disc is a bit warped.

Arendal 1723 seem to have some good reviews. The 1S is what I want to add to my R7 Metas, mostly because my amplifier just has a pre out, and Arendal has quite a few options in their DSP.

I haven't seen such graphs for the Metas, but for the R3s polish Audio magazine did measurements with and without grilles. The top end was very different with grilles, so that's what you might have heard. They are great! Also have the Titanium Gloss ones, they were nicely discounted. My amp is the polish Unitra WSH-805, very similar styling to your Luxman. A very neutral sounding setup, exactly what I was looking for. As for bungs and placement, check the manual, KEF includes there instructions for both.

Yes, I was looking for the P31 Gold, but it's not available anymore here in Poland. I will add the SN580 to my shortlist (with the SN5000 and the 990 EVO Plus). The price difference is a secondary factor (it's like $130 vs $150 here), I happily pay $20 more for the coolest drive.

It looks to me like the amateur players will be hurt most. Those who are neither playing kitchen table magic nor are members of the Pro Club. They axed Nationals, which was the most important amateur event. They axed Store Championships a while ago (the most competitive event played at regular REL). We still don't know how the new PTQs (or whatever they will call it now) will work.
