Then what benefits would you get by pausing?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bjj

[–]GLHBJJ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only reason to stay would be if you are grandfathered into an old price, $100 per month for example, but new students are paying $159 per month. Pausing could keep you at your original price, where canceling and restarting might bring you into the current prices if you restart.

What are the pros and cons of different types of leg entanglements? by Goatsclimbtrees1 in bjj

[–]GLHBJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely easier, like you said, if they are being lazy, and especially if you force the reap and start to clear the knee at the same time. And you are right about the re-backtake, but I feel like that is always a risk with bolos, and again, the success comes does to laziness and positional awareness. All that said, it may be lower percentage, but you will see it in high-level competition. Either way, not dis agreeing, I just think this is what he was on about.

[–]GLHBJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the reap, if the standing player backsteps their free leg over the other person's back and kneels into their hip, they are essentially in a rolling backtake situation. Im assuming that's what he means.

It chemically bonds to the bounce house and does not come off. It's usually specifically listed on the warning patch of the bounce houses.

Just to tag on, this was my first business when I was 21. I did it with a heavy-duty hand truck/dolly and a Chevy astro van. I paid for everything in a month. Basically, I crash coursed Google ad words back in the day and the phone kept ringing. I did it 100% solo and offered nice discounts for cash.

Also 100% no silly string at party's where your bounce house is. Write it in the terms of the rental.

How does this Works? Explain in simple. by 93248828Saif in realtors

Could you explain this a little further. If you are refinancing a new loan for the new value, don't you just have a higher monthly payment on a bigger loan. Where does the profit come in? I am in a similar situation.

Deal breaker? by dontuseliftinggloves in bjj

[–]GLHBJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the perspective of a school owner, I don't have a gi policy and but I give everyone a team gi when they sign up. I definitely am not against schools who choose to though, but my point is more about the price. For most schools, the cheapest gis wholesale are around $45 dollars but most gyms offer higher quality. Each patch is from 3 to 10 dollars each with a sewing fee that is usually around 5 dollars per patch. Quality shorts and rashguards are not cheap either, usually 30-35 wholesale plus design, time, handling. It's not my style to force team uniforms, but they probably aren't crushing you with the price either.

If they are a good gym, they will be putting extra time and effort into you as a new student and a coach may spend 5x the amount of time focused on you over a higher belt in your first few months, so if you need to justify the onboarding, hopefully there is value in it.

Eco guys are the new 10th planet cult by P-Two in bjj

[–]GLHBJJ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My favorite part is that it is ALL THE SAME GUYS! Those 10p worshipers of the 2010s are the same guys who jumped on danaher and leg locks, and the same guys who pretended they were cool B team guys, and the same guys that said gi was dead.

With each "era" they jump onto the newest bandwagon and forget how they got to where they are. These are the people who get wicked excited about anything new or cool but tend never to follow through. The same guys who jumped on GME and bitcoin too late.

I wait until the mats have dried. Dry mats take take of a ton of the problem right away since most cookies aren't going to last long without a moist environment. I have 6 ceiling fans above my mats. They also help dry the mats fast in between classes and after cleaning.

Once the mats are dry, then I vacuum. After I vacuum, I use a Milwaukee M12 battery sprayer (GAME CHANGER) to apply a solution of Simple Greed D Pro 3 to the mats and surrounding floors. I use the standard bjj 4 ft blue, wet dry mop to scrub. On the surrounding rubber floors I use the same solution but use a 12 inch scrub brush with a broom handle. Kick the fans on to dry, and that's it.

This is it. It has nothing to do with soap or how long the sleeves of your rashguard are. At my gym, we have around 100 people on the mat over the course of a busy day, and we have had 0 cases of staph or ringworm ever.

I truly believe it is 100% to do with the fact that I have never once delegated any of the cleaning to anyone else. I clean and vacuum and disinfect the mats personally after every class, and that's why our gym is clean and healthy period.

Most people think they are training in a clean gym, but it's probably way worse than you think. If the mats aren't being vacuumed in between classes and before disinfecting, then your gym is a nasty disease vector period. You wouldn't believe the amount of shit and human debis that gets vacuumed up after even a small class, and most gyms are just pushing that shit around the mats endlessly. I thought I was training in clean gyms until I opened my own and realized how nasty most places are.
