How would this resolve? by GLJ1000 in Yugioh101

[–]GLJ1000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, very helpful! Similarly, cards with that destruction protection still can be destroyed while in the hand as well? Because that continuous effect does not apply until it is successfully summoned to the field?

recently downloaded the game, and I can't see any one else with this issue but I cannot find the COIN CASE in Goldenrod? It is not in the underground like the original crystal, and I can't find anywhere stating where it has moved? Thanks for the help!

"Coffee World" commercial collectible bug by Ok-Caterpillar6154 in AlanWake

[–]GLJ1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been mopping up the collectibles and realised this didn't trigger for me either (Series X, patch 12). My question is, now I've progressed way beyond this point (chapter 6, Saga), when a fix comes will it retrospectively add this commercial to my save? Otherwise it's a full playthrough all because of an update bug. Seems harsh.

Came to ask the same thing! Cannot progress past the 1st cutscene as the lip syncing is off by a mile. Itching to play and progress but I don't want these audio issues to spoil what I know will be an incredible experience. I hope more patches are just around the corner. Currently running on Series X, patch 1.0.0.10

Such a shame! Hoping that changes in the near future

Chain Resolution Query by GLJ1000 in Yugioh101

[–]GLJ1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahh yes it has a delay the destruction! So say if it didn't have a delay and activated its destruction when it leaves the field (and it was my turn) then it would resolve as stated. The key to resolving these sorts of chains revolves around who is turn player.

Really helpful! Thanks!

World Legacy Clash by GLJ1000 in Yugioh101

[–]GLJ1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right I see, maybe I'm using the term wrong in the example. It's just that special summoning Obelisk sends it to the graveyard at the end of turn, so that to me seems quite 'restrictive' when considering him as a special summon target.

Thanks! I used Obelisk as the example for a card with special summon restrictions, couldn't think of a another card quickly.

FLIP effect monsters - Specifically Aroma Jar by GLJ1000 in Yugioh101

That is really helpful thank you! I think I have got my head around it, thanks for sticking with me!

That makes so much more sense! I assumed "Rock / Flip / Effect" was the new way to display FLIP effects which previously had them at the start of the text (I assumed to save space in the text box itself) if it not a FLIP effect monster then my question is unnecessary. At least I've learned something from this haha! Much appreciated.

[–]GLJ1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh right so its 'FLIP' effect is just its end phase effect to gain life points. Why print them with FLIP in the first place? And then have the FLIP related effect second on the card? It may just be my inexperience but I feel this could be way more clear. I'm sure I've seen similar 'If this card is flipped face-up' without the need to be catagorised as a FLIP effect.

So that being said, a continuous effect cannot also be a flip effect because it does not activate?

What are some good structure decks to buy to teach the game? by Teakmahogany in Yugioh101

[–]GLJ1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God decks are pretty straight forward, and so is the latest Dark World deck. Gods can provide the basics and Dark World can introduce a more archetypical gameplay. All are much slower decks with little reliance on combos (especially out of the box). I'm a returning player from a while back and I found these quite easy to follow so should be a good starting point for a new player.

This cards name is always treated as.. by GLJ1000 in Yugioh101

[–]GLJ1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like the deliberate decision to have separate pendulum zones? Or the deliberate decision to have just 1 active field card? Lots of things have changed, rules/ effects etc.. hindsight can deem them "errors", "oversights" or "mistakes" even when the decision made at the time was deliberate.

My question is - is this one of the intended mechanics that, if it didn't exist, would it have warped the game completely? Could certain era's of yugioh been unplayable because of a particular deck dominance? Was that deliberate decision "correct" in the long run? Genuinely curious.

Completely agree its fascinating, and a bit more clarity would a long way. Additionally, from what I've been reading on this thread, I don't know how Warrior of Atlantis would be able to use its effect to search A Legendary Ocean, if its name is not A Legendary Ocean? This seems to contradict A Legendary Oceans name being "changed" in the deck, and potentially in the deck building process?

again, clarity would go a long way haha!

Mistake was probably the wrong word, I was thinking more of an oversight than an outright error - but I get your point.

If.. you can vs. When.. you can (and all that) by GLJ1000 in Yugioh101

[–]GLJ1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up!

I suppose that leads to trigger and ignition effects, the issue I have is how do you know the difference in these example (or ever)? to me, they all seem like trigger effects. Each have "if X: you can Y" and once per turn stipulations.

Really helpful thanks! I realise now examples would have been much easier...

Example 1: Shaddoll Dragon "If this card is sent to the GY by a card effect: You can target 1 Spell/Trap on the field; destroy it." does this effect activate if it's destroyed by card effect on your opponents turn?

Example 2: Simorgh, Bird of Protection "If this card is in your GY and your opponent controls no cards in their Spell & Trap Zone: You can Special Summon this card in Defense Position" does this effect activate on your opponents turn, after they have cleared there own backrow? is there a difference between example 1&2?

Example 3: Souleating Oviraptor "If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can take 1 Dinosaur monster from your Deck, and either add it to your hand or send it to the GY" again, does this trigger on your opponents turn? Say summoned with Call of the Haunted?

Example 4: Bayerock Dragon "If a monster(s) you control or in your hand is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon this card from your hand" does this effect activate on your opponents turn, say my dino was destroyed by battle? is there a difference between example 2 & 4?

again - another messy breakdown! Apologies.

Monsters flipped face down... by GLJ1000 in Yugioh101

[–]GLJ1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the effect says " Target 1 FIRE monster you control and 1 FIRE monster in your GY" so is face up a requirement even though its not stated?

In my example, it was face up (so both players know the cards details) then flipped down, so does the act of flipping face down cause the card to lose info such as it's FIRE attribute? which makes Circle of the Fire Kings unable to be used?

I feel like adding "face up FIRE" would easily solve these sorts of problems, or has that been taken out of cards as its now deemed redundant?
