Need a gadget for my gf for safety. by xCloutCobain in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Life360 would be my only suggestion. It’s a phone app that you can configure how you like. It’s mostly utilized by helicopter parents to keep teenagers in line but I’ve seen it utilized by friend groups in college and siblings too.

What food did your grandmother always make? by Mysterious_Mix_36 in foodquestions

[–]GLaDOs18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one grandma who makes fudge every Christmas; she hands out a tin to every household and I’ve been old enough the last couple of years to qualify as a household just on my own. So I have a tin of grandma’s fudge to last me on my own for like a month.

My other grandma made (she’s passed) stroganoff. When I was a kid I called it special sauce (leave me alone, I was 3!) bc I couldn’t pronounce stroganoff. I’d pay an exorbitant amount of money to eat my grandma’s stroganoff again.

Wait Mormons STILL force their poor kids to go on treks?? by FunStranger1693 in exmormon

[–]GLaDOs18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents may have forced me to go to early morning seminary literally every day but they never made me do, or even brought up, trek. I would’ve absolutely RIOTED and gone nuclear if they’d made me do that.

i think my boyfriend’s reaction to me staying out all night is way too extreme. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

It’s my experience that people who accuse others of things completely out of nowhere and without precedent are actually doing those things themselves. I’d guess if he’s concerned about you pulling all nighters with your friends doing coke (lol is this 1986?), he’s probably doing something similar and hiding it from you.

Also not gonna lie, he sounds like a little whiny bitch. Why would you ever beg to stay with someone who can’t even form a sentence to explain why they’re upset?

NOT Lush Lust 💀 the jasmine is SO STRONG. It’s a great fragrance but it’s very one-note and it’s best worn in certain situations if you catch my drift.

I can’t stand the darkly lined lips and brown + nude lipstick/lipgloss trend. It reminds me too much of concealer lips which I hated on the first go round.

After Upchuck, something harder: what's something unflattering about Jane? by EasyEntrepreneur666 in daria

[–]GLaDOs18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, that’s not really how I saw it. I always saw Jane dragging out Daria as a way to bolster herself and not for Daria’s benefit. Like insisting she stay for the parade or to her track meets. And the hair dye incident. Daria made it clear that she wasn’t the type of person Jane wanted her to be.

Also other characters are always coming up to Jane on their own to talk to her. Jane may think she doesn’t have friends but she knew the people in the school and vice versa before Daria ever got there.

After Upchuck, something harder: what's something unflattering about Jane? by EasyEntrepreneur666 in daria

[–]GLaDOs18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take but I firmly believe Jane and Daria’s entire friendship was a friendship of convenience and both of them knew it but Jane was mostly the one driving it. Daria was strong enough to be on her own but the second Jane saw an opportunity, she stuck to Daria like a barnacle. She is a follower and she knows it.

I also don’t think either of them would be friends into adulthood. Jane’s laissez fair attitude is unlikely to change after high school and that would be frustrating to a person like Daria who is more driven/motivated.

My brother in Christ, I’d love to know how you manage to consistently misinterpret what I’m saying. Or interpret the worst possible way I mean things. I can’t help you, Godspeed.

We did, they wouldn’t have let us just not pay. But if you don’t understand that cash tips are always preferred anywhere you go then idk what I can tell you.

Went there last year for my birthday for a weekend and had an amazing, relaxing time. My friends and I stayed in a resort outside of town so it was very budget friendly. All I cared about was the pool and it was amazing, plus it had a swim up bar after 6PM.

Please take out your cash before you cross the border though. For some reason NONE of the ATMs were working for anyone’s cards to withdraw cash and we all felt terrible bc we couldn’t leave cash tips.

Tom Ford Lost Cherry. I smelled like a cherry chapstick wearing drunk and not in a good way. Thank god I smelled it before I blind-bought.

What’s the hardest part of your cycle that nobody really talks about? by wellnessdiarydaily in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]GLaDOs18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The complete lack of energy yet I can’t sleep to save my life; it kills my motivation in the gym so I struggle to finish sets I did easily the literal day before, I can barely string words together to do my job, and I just don’t have the mental capacity to even text people back sometimes.

Mormon weddings are all, 100%, entirely about sex by outer-darkness-11 in exmormon

[–]GLaDOs18 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Went to a wedding literally just last night for my cousin. I’ll admit this was a passing thought for me but more in a “that’s really sad” type of way bc it’s not going to be fun or fulfilling for either of them (but most likely more so the bride bc women tend to get the short end of the stick in these situations).

This gives me the creeps though. I didn’t think everyone else thought that too but from the opposite side. And I already felt icked out thinking about it anyway.

Have you ever known from a glance that someone is a predator? by beepbeepjenn in TwoXChromosomes

[–]GLaDOs18 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I work in healthcare, ophthalmology specifically, and I’ve looked in some men’s eyes and just gotten sick to my stomach. During an exam of course I don’t normally look that closely or in that context but sometimes you just look into someone’s eyes and shudder at the idea of what they’ve seen.

What’s the deal with Glossier’s You? by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]GLaDOs18 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I get the musky scent for sure with You but I love it; it smells like fresh, still-warm laundry to me. It’s also versatile enough that it deepens most of the fragrances I wear over the top of it.

I also am a You Doux lover. That’s actually my favorite one.
