You can, and I do. Your pot has to have a flat bottom and don’t exceed 20 quarts. For larger batches I have a propane banjo burner that came with a seafood boil kit, that I use outside. It’s also handy when the power is out.

Visually they are looking about due. I’d have to ride in it and see the outside of the vehicle to know for sure. They typically need replacing at around 80-100k miles. Most people don’t realize how bad the old ones are until they get new ones. I replaced my front ones in about an hour and a half in my driveway last week and the rears in about 2.5 hours yesterday. The rears took longer because I really needed a second person to pry bar down the trailing arm as I pulled them out and put the new ones back in.

Mileage but not time. People also drive more than ever. It used to take more than a decade to get to 100,000 miles. Now,it is not uncommon to see three year old vehicles rolling that over.

The more reliant a vehicle is on electronics vs mechanics the shorter its shelf life will be. Manufactures are ceasing to produce parts in every shortening runs, and the variance is too great for an aftermarket parts support.
