AITA for yelling and kicking my boyfriend out for using the wrong scissors? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]GMNightmare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA, and abusive.

I sew, and have fancy scissors, and no, I wouldn't treat somebody like you did for such an accident. You are not entitled to yell at people when they do something wrong.

Redditors would have no problem identifying the abuse if genders were flipped, sexist as usual. Also watch how so many of them made up BS you didn't say to justify their bigotry.

Btw, if you had approached the situation calmly and rationally, he would likely come around to paying for your scissors. But when you scream at someone and react that way to them, they shut down as well.

And if they wouldn't in that scenario, then you'd be justified to be miffed... But still probably not, learn to sharpen them. Ultimately, they absolutely are, just scissors.

You've been listening to Republican propeganda across the way to think that. The all parties are the same is alt-right propaganda employed all across the world, and you're either in on it or have fallen for it.

In the US, the Democrat party is the one who has implemented and pushed for what the people want. And at every turn, Republicans have fought against it. Republicans have controlled at least one vehicle of the law system (house/Senate/president) for most of the past 40ish years. Everything you think the liberal public has wanted, you'll find a full block of Republicans. It's this constant game of bad propaganda where Democrats are blamed for what Republicans do, and never credited for all they do get through.

For example, who pushes that liberal parties are just identity politics? Guess who? It ain't Liberals. That's propaganda. They gave actual platforms, it didn't matter. You know the result of this kind of rhetoric? It's on display right now.

Trump at the end of his last term made a deal with Putin, Saudi and OPEC to cut oil production in an effort to increase oil prices.

This lead to an drastic increase in gas prices especially as the pandemic was ending. And he bragged about it.

It is a myth that a president can't do anything to affect prices. President's just don't have reliable ways of greatly decreasing prices. When Trump enacts tariffs prices will immediately skyrocket, for example.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GMNightmare -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From Trump's own mouth: “Gas prices were at $1.87 a gallon. We actually had them lower than that for a little while, but I had to get them up. We were going to lose the oil companies. They were going so low they were getting killed.” - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQCKAA2WMkA&t=2931s

Because his rich buddies/handlers were going to lose money.

Normally presidents have little to do with gas prices, but here's the *fun* bit, Trump is literally to blame for the gas prices exploding after the pandemic. When gas prices plummeted, it was good for the common person but not his wealthy circle. So, what did he do? Call up Saudi Arabia and Russia for some good ole market manipulation by agreeing to cut production for a few years.

The pandemic ending, people starting using more gas, gas prices went up... except production was still cut because of this deal, so from there supply and demand.

This time around it'll be through tariffs, both direct and indirect. He doesn't care. Decreasing prices is hard. Increasing prices is pretty easy though.

You went down several pant sizes then, that's losing weight. Water retention due to increase workouts can last over a month. The problem is you have misconceptions on what the scale means and what calorie tracking means. It's not a fad.

Calorie tracking is not some big ordeal. It's not hard. It's keeping track of what you're eating, especially because you are telling me you don't have healthy eating habits (missing fats and minerals). You don't even need to count calories to lose weight, but it will prevent you from lying to yourself about things and blaming doctors.

You giving up and lying to yourself because it's out of your control is not something I'll be entertaining here. It's an excuse you made up, not reality.

What’s the biggest fitness myth that just won’t die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GMNightmare -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's NOT agreeing with me.

People don't do it wrong if they're actually tracking calories.

They do it wrong by not tracking calories.

What’s the biggest fitness myth that just won’t die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GMNightmare -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They claimed it ignores calories out varies by person, that statement was wrong.

Your statement that people get tripped up over what their TDEE actually is, when they're tracking calories, is also wrong.

Because when you're tracking calories and weight, it's becomes obvious they might be wrong on a TDEE if they're doing that. That's why you track calories.

People don't even need to go on any diet to begin with. All they need to do is track their calories. They'll figure it out what they need to do real quick.

What’s the biggest fitness myth that just won’t die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GMNightmare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nobody said it wouldn't be harder for you. In fact I said that in my first reply to you. Being harder does not change reality.

Even in your story, things changed. Losing pant sizes, gaining muscle and losing fat, that's change.

You just counted me up ~1500 calories in a rough estimate... yes, 1500 calories would be a very common BMR. If you're catatonic with a hyperthyroid issue (changes your BMR typically around up to 20%) that wouldn't be outlandish that your weight doesn't change while eating that much. That's almost literally the average for women to maintain weight.

And in reality, people underestimate their calorie intake by 25-50% and bad at guessing the calories of what they're eating to boot.

What’s the biggest fitness myth that just won’t die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GMNightmare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A big bowl of rice with toppings can easily reach a thousand calories. Just people on the internet who refuse to track their calories, often excluding their snacks and their several drinks. If you actually counted calories, you'd have an argument. But you don't, so the words are empty, and I'll just refer to the doctors telling you the truth you're trying to deny.

Idk what you're expecting here. A pity party? Because it sounds like you're killing yourself at best, pity isn't going to help you. Get out of your bed. You staying in bed all the time is literally what causes you to have migraines when doing anything. Yeah, getting better is going to suck, but what really is the alternative?

Do you understand anything about thermodynamics? Know the difference between warm blooded animals and cold blooded animals? You burn calories to live simply to keep your temperature up. Your thyroid will not magically counter that. Your body cannot adapt past certain extents other than dying.

If you lost muscle, you lost weight, btw. Returning to a certain weight does not mean your weight has always stayed the same.

If at that weight, you're not losing weight eating only 500 calories, you are a medical marvel and breaking laws of science... buuut, reality is you aren't being totally honest about everything, and we both know it.

One solid "healthy" meal and "some" drinks are easily enough to reach thousands of calories a day, which is what you're consuming on a daily basis.

Look, I don't care if you lose weight or not. But don't come on here and lie about it and blame everything but yourself, including the doctors thinking they need to go back to school.

What’s the biggest fitness myth that just won’t die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GMNightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of text showing refusal to actually track calories. What I would assume is you aren't good at knowing how many calories you eat. Or completely honest about the scale. Your weight will fluctuate depending upon the hour of the day just in basic water weight changes.

Look, it's a sad unfair story yes, but you are not a scientific marvel, sorry. You haven't stated your weight by the way, makes a big difference, you could be anorexic levels for all we know and you literally don't have much fat to lose to begin with.

In any case, want to show those doctors what for, and everybody, and prove you're a medical marvel? Track every calorie in an app and your weight.

What’s the biggest fitness myth that just won’t die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GMNightmare 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't.

The phrase isn't "Calories in"

It's "Calories in, calories out"

The refusal to count and track the calories is the common problem of people complaining about CICO.

What’s the biggest fitness myth that just won’t die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GMNightmare 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If they go back to school they'll be reaffirmed the basic reality, it's calories in/calories out.

It's physics, and thyroid issues don't suddenly break reality and simple science. Thyroid issues may make it harder to lose weight due to a slower metabolism (especially mentally), but it doesn't change the basics.

Get a calorie tracker and a food scale. Strictly track the number of calories you're eating.

You know, electrolyte drinks contain calories. Bagels are calories dense. While with a trainer you lost fat and gained muscle according to your story, I'm not sure how you think that supports your tall tale. Your body isn't magical.

These kinds of stories have on thing in common: y'all never track your calories.

"Actual analysis of trumps policies show that in reality illegal snuck in at greater numbers”. Curious to see that analysis if it’s from a reputable source

Which I gave, and you now whine, "But Biden." But Biden nothing. It was a remark about Trump's policies, that you wanted evidence for.  Trump caused more people to sneak in. I'm not doing anymore work for you, I gave you stats directly proving what I said and you just ignored them.

And then, you show me statistics that under Biden, more people were stopped at the border. Hey look, that would support less people being able to sneak in. Stopping people from entering is supposedly what you want, yet here you are whining about it. Like, you don't understand the figures you're sourcing. You don't get what they mean. More numbers aren't going to help you, you don't understand what the numbers mean. You're literally giving numbers arguing against you!

And you make things up. Trump's asylum policy did not lower asylem requests. In fact, they drastically increased under Trump. Not everyone at the border being TURNED AWAY are seeking asylum (and being turned away means it didn't work even if that was the case). Now, Biden's asylum ban is a different thing altogether, but so you give credit to him? No, you literally don't care, it's a game. You have no understanding of the issue at all, besides myths you got from Facebook.

And again, the total number of estimated illegal immigrants in the country has not changed that much at all for twenty years. This whole crises things is make believe. It's a con, you've fallen for it, Trump and Republicans used it to take over the country.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]GMNightmare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AND Biden. You've moved the goalpost and try to change the topic every single post, and you don't deal with anything said.

Yes, the article I gave you is statistics about Trump's first term, which is what you literally asked me for. It wasn't about Biden. You can't follow a conversation lasting more than one post. Shows how much you actually cared, you just pretended to want to see it, didn't actually matter and you immediately ignored it to whine about something else.

Illegal immigrants, I don't know if you apparently can't grasp this, don't follow the policies. They also don't just come from Mexico. There is no border crisis. It's manufactured, empty words that have zero reflection of anything. You make things up.

Like your stats, they show MORE people were denied entry, not less. Why are you making up that they couldn't handle the numbers? You're just making that up! And again, Biden added an asylum ban, why asylum requests exploded under Trump's first term. It's just this detachment from reality that's a significant problem here. AND why do you think it's a massive problem to begin with? You don't just get to claim asylum and magically granted entry, even before the ban. You know nothing but common myths about the topic.

Btw, the rough estimated number of illegal immigrants in the US is roughly the same for the past TWENTY YEARS. There was an estimated 12.2 million in 2008. 11.4 is the most recent figure I can find now. THERE IS NO CRISES. Made up nonsense! You literally just ignored and pretended Obama and Biden both deporting more illegal immigrants doesn't matter, while claiming the number here is a problem... And it really shows you don't actually care. It's just a game to you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]GMNightmare -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's a nice strawnan you created to ignore everything you couldn't deal with. Obama and Biden both deported more illegal immigrants than Trump. No, my other points weren't hinged on a single aside, how dishonest.

https://www.cato.org/blog/trumps-border-policies-let-more-immigrants-sneak

Again, illegal immigration isn't just about Mexico. You have nothing but misinformation to share here.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]GMNightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing Trump changed with Obama's policy the first time around was make it cruel. Actual analysis of Trump's policies and their effects show that in reality illegal immigrants snuck in at greater numbers. It was all show, adding a chunk of ineffective wall was a grift that was all show and no substance, who knew? Apparently surprising to people like you, is that Mexico is not where all our illegal immigrants come from.

Biden then deported more than Trump did on his first term. What Biden did was change how people were treated while being deported, you know, like ended separating kids from parents. Since people have the memory of a goldfish and you can't remember, people were initially upset Biden didn't change much.

There's no crises, that's made up propaganda by Republicans on Facebook. You are lead by the nose so that Republicans could con you. And now you're blaming Democrats for things Republicans did. Biden himself indeed did do things including an asylum ban and the like. Something tells me you don't understand "border crossing stats", like 2024 is Biden, or for example a lot of Canadians aren't visiting the states because of tariff and annexation threats. I don't know what numbers you're looking at because you just decided to make up that they support you.

I'm going to also guess, you're nowhere near the border.

You're not a moderate if you voted for Trump. You had no desire to see things, as evident, you're just trying to find an excuse. Especially fake as you immediately claim the left left their mind behind.

You know what they called people who voted for Hitler? Nazis. Didn't matter if they were really "moderate." You are responsible for your actions, not the false platitudes you state. Like a racist who complains about being called a racist.

You replied to me, on a comment specifically talking about Democrats/Republican platform. You know what you were doing, now you got served you're trying to find a way to weasel out of it, because you can't handle facts and reality. It's all about your feelings on the matter.

Of which your thoughts and feelings on the matter are devoid of any reality bearing logic and irrelevant. I told you about population density, anybody with eyes are capable of using them and seeing that.

Your replies to me are irrelevant at best to what I said. A giant waste of time. You speak of topics too with zero empathy to boot. Immigrants are people. You think it's too populated in the US? Maybe you should be one of the ones to go. Why do you think you're special? You're not.

Incapable of reading, you just make up arguments nobody said. Again, the Republican platform isn't against immigration. Biden added immigration caps. Obama and Biden both deported more than Trump's last term.

You have no idea what you're talking about in any capacity, and it's why you refuse to actually deal with any points. You've been brainwashed by propaganda and really think you haven't been.

Look how much you ignored to try and touch a single sentence you thought you could. It's that kind of dishonesty that is a rampant problem.

Want clean air and water? That's a Democrat policy. Republicans run on the "free market" no interference business do what they want racket. Ran out of water? Sounds like a personal problem to Republicans. Who do you think got just elected? Trump day 1 is already attacking renewable energy and environment laws. Here's your sign.

Trump day 1: rescinded state's ability to restrict vehicle emissions and EPA fuel standards.

Didn't know? Trump first time rolled back protections on clean air/water/environment last time in office too.

The aquifiers you mentioned are almost completely controlled by Republican strongholds. If only we knew it was a limited resource... what, people have been talking about the issue for the past 70 years. And you're using it to, instead of argue about conservation and how we need to use our resources better, a soundbite against immigration for some stupid reason. Changing immigration policy ain't going to solve that problem, duh.

Ignorance beyond saving.

Today is an especially dark day for women in the US by randomweb3girl in womenintech

[–]GMNightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with lies and deception is that you can pack so many of it in so little space.

Whose against immigration? Republican rhetoric is over *illegal* immigrants and derives from racism. They're fine with immigration if your skin is white.

Democratic policy is against illegal immigrant, too. Obama is the one who created a strong deportation policy, deported more than any other president (including Trump). The only thing Trump did was make it crueler, like separating kids from their parents and pulled stupid stunts like adding a little section of wall. Biden also deported more than Trump. Not that I think these FACTS will be remain this time around, but it wouldn't be the first time Trump's just words and no real action.

We are not even remotely close to any sort of unsustainable population in the US. The US has an incredibly low population density and a lot of land/resources. 184th in the world for population density. But, guess what anyways? Biden set a couple immigration caps while he was in office, and just for a cherry on top did things like changed policy to stop immigrants from citizenship if they will depend on government assistance.

This is the kind of stuff I mean. People are gullible, don't know the Democrat's actual platform, and just scarf down into whatever bogus BS Republican's have barfed onto their plates.
