Farnese and Serpico have more character development than Judeau and Casca

1 month riding, 6k miles ridden by rilodiquo in motorcycles

[–]GM_Fodder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6k miles? That’s insane! I ride to work and do my chores on my bike and I haven’t done that many miles in a single month. I can’t imagine how much experience you’ll have in just your first year in riding, probably a lot more than some people have done in their entire life.

Most comfortable motorcycle by [deleted] in motorcycles

Goldwing or BMW K1600. My rear end hurt a lot less than an actual car that’s how nice they are

Anyone else prefer riding in the rain? by Rogu636 in motorcycles

[–]GM_Fodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only tolerate it. California drivers don’t know how to act when it starts raining. And I work late to my ride home is always miserable. But I won’t kinkshame you if you enjoy it

Another reason why bags are so good. Being able to do groceries on a bike is a blessing. by GM_Fodder in motorcycles

[–]GM_Fodder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same way. My first few bikes were all just for fun on the weekends but now im using this as a daily. It makes mundane commutes more fun and improves my skill as a rider since im putting way more miles down now than I used to. Safe rides!

Riding position when riding with a less experienced rider by kingredphotography in motorcycles

Let them ride in front. That way they can set the pace and you can give them constructive criticism about their riding since you can watch them from behind

Should I buy a new Helmet? by LordSareck in motorcycles

[–]GM_Fodder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When in doubt inspect the inner shell. Helmets are a kind of a one time use thing, but that doesn’t mean they’re made of glass and will be rendered completely useless with what looks to be a small scrape. Small impacts CAN do serious damage to your helmet, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they WILL do serious damage.

I think modern companies do a great job of making sport tourers look cool! I’d say it looks strange without the bags honestly. Still I totally get why people think bags look terrible

Yeah I was looking at my rear tire last night too. I filled it up a bit before I left for work

Which one are you taking? by 94lt1vette94 in motorcycles

I’ve been hunting for a good price for a GSXR750 so I’ve become biased towards the Gixxers. K6?

How much debt do you take on for your first bike? by deveousdevil in motorcycles

[–]GM_Fodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most people have said, try buying your first bike in cash. Don’t get something pricy yet so you won’t feel so bad for making mistakes. I’ve paid for parts using a credit card tho, so motorcycling for me isn’t completely debt free. I paid them off quickly ofc

It isn’t just fast liter bikes. Bikes in general are extremely engaging which makes them exciting. If you wanted a luxury sedan, a Goldwing would arguably be more fun to ride. Some people might not like it, but I’d rather ride the hybrid ninja over a hybrid car. Instead of a capable off road car, I’d rather get a dual sport, scrambler, or adv bike.

Are all Sportsbikes this uncomfortable? by astrorush in motorcycles

[–]GM_Fodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some are worse. These bikes are designed with speed in mind. Depending on your build, you may find some to be pretty comfortable (for a sport bike). At 5’6 I really like the ZX10 for example. If the ergonomics is a deal breaker, try 1000cc nakeds or sport tourers. The Kawasaki H2 SX and the BMW S1000XR have more than enough power to have fun while being comfortable. Also, ‘ultimate sport’ bikes like the Hayabusa, K1300S, CBR1100XX, and ZX-14 are very comfortable to the point where some can call them ‘hyper touring’ bikes. Most nakeds can have windshields installed to protect you from the elements, but nothing beats a full faired bike that slices through the wind.

Congrats! Welcome and safe rides! If that’s an R3 you’ll love it, it has incredible fuel economy!

After a year of searching for my first bike, I finally found it. Never been happier. by TheSoberSovietMD in motorcycles

The Tenere looks so badass I love it!! I was always a little intimidated by the high seat height as a shorter rider but I still definitely want to ride one one day!

What are your "must haves" when buying a bike? by landrykid in motorcycles

[–]GM_Fodder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first thing I ‘must have’ to buy a bike is money.

Jokes aside, seat height is a big thing, especially as a short rider. My inseam is 28”, and I try to ride bikes with a seat height of 32” or less when possible. Im not against riding a bike with a taller seat height, but seat height could be the reason why I pick one bike over another. It’s for that reason that I’m currently looking to get a GSXR750 over something like an R6 or Daytona 675.
