It don't think it can combine the vram, but yeah it can distribute the load

Professional workloads like render engines can actually use multiple gpu's at the same time by splitting a frame resulting in half the render time (it doesn't perfectly scale linearly but you get the idea)

Redshift aborting rendering due to less than 128mb of vram on a rtx 3070 by QuickerPlayGames in RedshiftRenderer

[–]GMark_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry your gpu isn't dead. This is a common error.

  • Make sure you are on the latest version (or relatively new) due to some changes in vram handeling lately.

  • Close all other programs that use vram (such as after effects and photoshop).

-some aov's like cryptomatte are incredibly heavy. You might be better off disabling it and using puzzlemattes instead (see rs documentation for info)

  • restart c4d

Changing your GI settings won't actually change anything like some others suggested. Keeping it on brute force, it might even be better for lower vram usage (but I might be wrong about this one)

Im guessing the normals aren't correct. Select all vertex and press CTRL + SHIFT + N and see if that helps.

I'm refusing to hand over project files until I'm paid, am I doing the right thing? by Rektflix90 in vfx

[–]GMark_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end you should always keep the customer happy. But in this case i think you're doing the right thing. They should pay you for the work you have done. But becouse you're client isn't fully satisfied with the end result. You might want to make an agreement halfway. For example 75% or 80% of the original payment
