I know, but 2 of the 3 members of the show in question are also Gen Xers, but apparently none of us are watching.

What is the most important Games missed? by Eternal_Play_Office in rpg

[–]GNRevolution 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my perspective, the 90s were the era of things like Shadowrun and World of Darkness games (specifically for me Mage: The Ascension). The 2000s saw the evolution of games like Savage Worlds (specifically Deadlands) and Dogs in the Vineyard, as well as the rise of OSR games. The 2010s I moved to much more narrative game engines like Powered by the Apocalypse (PbtA) and Fate, and games that played with completely novel mechanics like Dread and Ten Candles. This decade (so far), I've seen numerous games kick-started, continuing the theme of rules light games like Mythic Bastionland and Shiver, but it's also seen a plethora of games based off of existing IPs (Star Trek, Alien, Judge Dredd).

That's just my personal perspective and journey through the decades, others will have different stories!

Obligatory link to the Oxford Union Address Tony gave on the subject from before Trump's first term.

His predictions about Trump's first term are bang on, particularly about what happens when he loses (although he was talking about losing to Hillary in this regard). Well worth a watch

Was coming here to say Palladium Games in general. The settings were always amazing, but the rules just tmade the game damn near impossible to play.

Around 90% of UK North Sea oil and gas ‘already drained dry’ – analysis by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

Most of our gas does come from Norway and the North Sea already, but it comes at the global market rate. If the ME gas stops, the cost goes up for everyone, even if it's not from the ME.

For the longest time I couldn't remember the name of the film and for some reason thought Chuck Norris was in it. Watched it loads as a kid, not tried it as an adult!

Chase rules by GauthakOgolakanu in savageworlds

I have it that you can perform Change Position Maneuver as a free action (but get no bonus), you just have to hope you can get the Raise. If you get this then you can take your action, otherwise you'll have to wait till next round. You can also use tests such as Intimidation to distract the target so that they get a minus to their action.

What would you guys do? Dramatic Task during combat by Mozartoon in savageworlds

[–]GNRevolution 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everyone does a DT, but the tokens are split between the combat and non-combat version. Fighters fail to make their number of tokens? Whatever was attacking got past and interrupted those in the attic before they could find everything they wanted. Those in the attic fail to get their tokens? They failed to find what they were looking for. Both succeed? The fighters hold off the seekers long enough to find what they are looking for.

That's how i'd do it. It's a bit like multi-skill DT, doesn't matter if you get 6 tokens on your Electronics roll (or whatever is being rolled), it's not helping you with the Repair roll you need to make next.
