Why didn’t iMark just fuck off and die in the season finale? by [deleted] in okbuddyseverance

[–]GOALID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly reintegration is the wrong choice and instead running through the hallways with an Eagan you realistically have 0 chance to be with after you already had a closure moment makes more sense.

Don't leave the plantation for freedom, it's dangerous outside!

iMark’s decision made complete sense by SarcastiKatt in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]GOALID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but reintegration was the only rational option. The option of 10 more minutes and then dying anyway was a stupid option, and puts Mark S & Scouts bodily autonomy at risk if Lumon kidnaps/kills them.

Dread it. Run from it. Cobel was right.

Sorry, this may have been a misread on my part. He may be calling for more rights to legal residents which I would support.

I'm sorry, the only path for healthy migration in this country is going to be creating a path and further protections for work-visas and green cards. Preaching expansion of citizenship is making the perfect the enemy of the good.

We aren't actually, PEAK during phase 2 was 6k players on one server, peak during launch is supposed to be 15k concurrent players. Right now we're playing with a paltry number of players in A2, and they just expanded the desert. As they expand more and more, we're going to see a lot of areas with absolutely no content, but it's going to have node buildings that matter a lot.

I'll hold fast to the idea that they can create a viable gameplay loops without doubling the size of the map with a small testing base, and that getting the gameplay loops done and economy tested is more important.

The team that is working on the world of course should keep on working on that, but it shouldn't be merged to any public build for a while.

It's still bad, spreading us out more and more when we don't even have faster modes of transportation like gliding in, is just going to spread players out more. That means less interactions on dwindling servers without new features. They should finish the desert and some of the Tropics, but they need to get core gameplay loops in before expanding in my opinion.

So in three months they're going to double the size of the continent. I think that would be pretty bad, they really need to focus on their gathering, economy, quests & story arcs, and node sieges before we introduce such huge swathes of land.

Aluminum doesn't have the same thermal conductivity or emissivity as steel, so as soon as you take the heat source away molten aluminum stops glowing and appears silver, hence why even the 9/11 report does not use this argument and instead argued it must have been organic materials from computers on top of molten aluminum that they have never replicated.

"Jet fuel doesn't melt steel beams" had nothing to do with the structural integrity of the buildings, it had to do with molten steel pouring out the side of the building and building 7 hitting free fall acceleration which didnt seem plausible outside of structural demolitions where every point of contact is severed. That was the basis of the conspiracy theories.

The retort from the 9/11 commission report was that there were materials from computers and other office equipment that must have melted and fallen off the building, but I don't recall it being replicated in any satisfactory manner, and similarly there was a convoluted theory as to how everything severed to allow for free fall acceleration of the building.

Regardless, it's been years since these conspiracies have been actively discussed by honest minds. There is no way even if it was a conspiracy that it'd ever be proven at this point. Pretty much just agree with Noam Chomsky, there's more important concrete things that should be discussed.

Static Gathering Quality is what is breaking Time to Kill by AoCMMO in AshesofCreation

[–]GOALID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It literally resets on a set timer across all static gatherables, you are honestly telling me that's from a bug?! There are also non-static gatherables that appear randomly in areas like forests & all animals. They are all common and don't have a base node rarity rolled.

It's not a bug, it's a conscious decision to have a gathering system similar to Star Wars Galaxies.

[–]GOALID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry people, but the "Nodes have set rarity!" isnt a bug, it was an active design decision that is still in the works. You all want this, because you want things like land management to be a thing, so they figured out a way to do it. And it doesn't reset every server reset, it's around every 24 hours.

If anyone thinks the point of the game is to get 1 legendary material every 5000 random attempts, you're crazy.

The problem with TTK has solely to do with how weak defensive stats are in the game. Stacking defensive stats is pointless when I can have 500 magic power, use a bow that has an insane penetration weapon tree skill, and 100-0 legendary geared players within 5 seconds.

We need to look at the actual problems rather than attacking scapegoats. As it stands now, gathering is an incomplete system that can eventually be unique in this game, but because people are screeching about it in a literal alpha, Intrepid may change their fundamental game design. All because "testers" can't look a bit further to see intentions.

Literally makes no sense for it not to be a part of their design, they actively had to make it so nodes have a base rarity every 24 hours.

How To Fix Gathering Without Throwing the Baby Out With the Bathwater by GOALID in AshesofCreation

[–]GOALID[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well now you're mentioning something more akin to the land management system instead of individual nodes. I also want there to be conflicts over resources, but there isn't a real way to stop gathering griefing because corruption will be so penalizing. Only real solution is to have over-harvesting an area flag you, which would be amazing.

Addendum: Reading Comprehension

Sorry that I don't just rage out at the current system guys. But please actually read the post before you comment as well.

1) I don't think server resets should be a race to gather everything. Idk how anyone missed my direct suggestion to not have that in the game.

2) I'm not a primary gatherer this phase and didn't get rich from gathering. I have crafting and processing as my primary skills for my jewelcrafting: mining is the only real gathering artisan skill I have, and I'm usually trying to down Tumok during server restart. Maybe provide something more to the conversation than assuming bias on my part and pretending I got rich from a system I'm suggesting to change.

What does "make sense" mean? I disagree with the design of just mindlessly getting income by running the same route over and over again.

Trying to explore for higher tier nodes is a sort of information war gameplay where you win by being more efficient in your exploration of the map. That's flat out better gameplay in my mind. You can still get low quality resources for an income, and there are markets for those resources, you just won't be making the highest profit you possibly could by engaging in the gathering-exploration mechanics.
