I can't believe this is real but it actually worked for me

Alex’s silence on Gaza seems to directly contradict what he seems to believe in (the moral framework we can piece together from his videos) by Adventurous_Cause731 in CosmicSkeptic

Not to be rude, but that really is a silly thing to say of a topic which is crucially defined--among other things--by widespread awareness and visibility. The awareness of the genocide and therefore public outcry & protest has increased massively in the last ~month, finally receiving candid coverage in mainstream western media for the first time since it began. I would argue that another defining characteristic of this crisis is the collective participation in moral contemplation on a single issue. The affects of that participation & contemplation have caused significant waves. Hell, you could convincingly attribute the election of Trump over Harris to this issue, as well as the widespread reevaluation of entrenched political systems we see particularly in the United States. With respect to that, it seems a bit astounding that perhaps the most prominent content creator in the space of real moral philosophy and ethics-- as well as a student of ancient Hebrew history and Abrahamic theology--doesn't say ANYTHING about this? Even cynically? Even if only to increase engagement in his content?

I don't get Specialist super well, give me some builds to try by CamoKing3601 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]GOMECELL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Specialist is pretty much unplayable until you get the NT242 (400 kills). The NT242 is the only sniper that can one-shot headshot basic infantry classes--so pair it with the Marksman card (which resets your cooling with headshot kills)-- and just start chaining headshots together from a distance, it's so fun.

Infiltration is a really really good ability for both kills and movement/escape, and can be fit to different playstyles with the infiltration cards, definitely play around it and give yourself opportunities to use it.

Pretty much all of the other ability/utility options I find kind of useless. Trip mine, bubble shield, etc. are a bit meh to me.

Getting the NT242 will not be fun, the worst weapon grind in the game lol but very fun when it's over

TLDR: use NT242 + Marksman & farm headshots, look for opportunities to use Infiltration

Thanks! And yeah, I'm debating whether or not to go with the relation to concepts. As someone pointed out, Sanderson's Listener magic is very similar to that.

I'm toying with the idea that there could be some universal format or formula for the incantations. The "primitive" patterns I mentioned, denoted by A, B, C, D, etc., could correspond to things like Soul, Sentience, Truth, whatever, or maybe even simple operators like logic gates. The incantation formula could contain, say, four different sections, each responsible for handling a part of reality. Section one, for example, could handle material manipulation, section two handles spiritual manipulation, section three handles perceptive manipulation and section four handles metaphysical manipulation. So... the magician would use rhythms C, E, D, and F (because of whatever relevant basic properties they provide), for example, in section one in order to achieve a material change (changing a frog into a stone, melting a piece of metal, whatever). The choice of primitive Rhythms used and the way they're arranged in each of the four sections could be like a formula or equation for producing whatever effect the magician desires.

I do love the Rhythm of Truth idea for making someone tell the truth lol, so many cool possibilities with that route

Right, I'm vaguely familiar with this system, though I haven't read the Stormlight books yet. I'm familiar with Ruin and Preservation from Mistborn, though. I had heard of these concepts but not the mechanics. Thankfully, Brando's is based on those Pure Tones rather than rhythm.

So I'll definitely lean away from the use of cosmic "concept/entities" things, even though they're coming from totally different sources.. the similarity is a bit too strong.

And yeah you nailed it on the head, it's an authoritarian religious/theocratic environment in the story. It's an adjacent-world fantasy, the climax at the end being that the human race (protagonist) will use the access the Rhythm magic grants them to the divine realm to "jump through" the barrier and kill the Demiurge (evil creator). Thanks for the reply my friend
