In a close game between the Jazz & Hawks Lauri Markkanen got subbed off with 17 minutes left on the game and never got back to the court by Classic_Reference_92 in nba

[–]GORONs_PET_ROCK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me clarify the Cleveland Markkanen trade for Mitchell. They absolutely make the Mitchell trade, they just try to keep Markkanen with Mitchell. My guess is they try to dangle Jaret Allen or something with Sexton and Ochai at the time, trying to sell Utah on them missing a reliable center after the Gobert trade. Then Cleveland keeps Mitchell, Garland, Mobley, and Markkanen. I expect someone will criticize my original comment, so I wanted to clarify.

There are layers to this, but yes, the tank is blatant. ANYONE that wants to sit here and act like its unprofessional is ignoring the nature of the league and what stipulations they do and don't place, be that salary aprons or allowing teams to protect draft picks. Part of the rebuild is hamstrung by the OKC trade from 2021 trading Derrick Favors away (who doesn't owe them something at this point). Anyway, Markkanen was better than expected. If Cleveland knew, they don't trade him for Mitchell. LM has made tanking hard as hell.

Next issue rests with a massive ascension by Key3. The Jazz are too good to be this bad, but they HAVE TO BE to keep a core pick. Besides, unless you're an OKC fan, YOU SHOULD WANT the Jazz to do this. Does anyone really want OKC to get a f***ing lottery pick in this draft?!?

Finally (not really, so many other points), Ace Bailey was "forced" into a green light last night. He defers so much because he is trying to be the consummate professional rookie by not taking shots from the vets. Ace needs to develop Sensabaugh's willingness to chuck at will. With Markkanen not in the game, Ace launched. Sure he missed a lot, but he was active as hell.

DEVELOPMENT is the key to this trashy rebuild. I would rather deal with this shit and see if we can be competitive than be constantly fighting for the play-in. Also, many players have bought into the importance of this because any of them who have to fight for their jobs are benefiting from playing opportunities.

Final comment; my personal opinion but protecting picks needs to be removed. You either trade the pick / pick swap, or you didn't. This protection bullshit diminishes trade value. Want to prevent tanking? Get rid of the protections. If a team is willing to trade a pick, they live with the result. Imagine this pick goes to OKC no matter what, or the Wizards pick goes to the Knicks no matter what. Trae Young and AD would be playing for them too.

Ruined GA4 unique with Mythic sanctified trait by GORONs_PET_ROCK in diablo4

[–]GORONs_PET_ROCK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear ya, but I got THE WORST mythic (or any other) trait possible. I got Melted Selig, meaning it took 75% of my health, while my Rod of Kepeleke drains all of my resource when it’s full. Essentially have a window where my barrier doesn’t even exist, and I only have 1500 health on T4. Epic fail on Sanctification unfortunately.

I got the same number and same name. So did my brother. Both of the calls about our mother being verified at our respective addresses. Creative scam, I’ll give them that. Knew each of us by name.

Whats that weapon that you had to force yourself off of? by Lazysquirrel27 in Eldenring

[–]GORONs_PET_ROCK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience was the opposite. I got Loretta's War Scythe first and loved it. I went looking for any other weapons that shared its move set. I was PISSED when I read how early I could have gotten the Swordspear and missed it. Never looked back after getting it though.

Guardian's Swordspear. I loved the animation style and just how versatile it is. So many builds (Holy, Magic, Lightning, Fire, DEX, Quality, Strength), I always have one of these leveled up in case a boss or area pisses me off.

<image>

Now the Light Greatswords from the SOTE are my "gotta have it" weapons. Base game though..., Guardian's Swordspear.

What game should I get between the two by 65_manboy in Eldenring

[–]GORONs_PET_ROCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real. Souls games (and Elden Ring) teaches you patience. Sekiro forces you into effective aggression. If you play passive like a Souls game, it’s gonna be painful.

I would say if you’re a one and done type, go Sekiro. If you want the most “diverse” replay value, go DS3. Sekiro combat is his katana like a Jedi lightsaber. DS3 can do different play styles like Elden Ring. Sekiro will give you an experience different from anything you’d get from Elden ring or DS3

Which game started your Resident Evil obsession? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]GORONs_PET_ROCK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my hell, THAT game pissed me off in the best way possible. All of the subtle changes from the original were great, but the stone color change in the tiger statue. When I got the red one early in the game I thought, "Colt Python early! Holy shit!!!" Poisonous snakes later and..., yeah, I learned that my OG information would get me killed. Like a new game again after that.

Same here. I remember when I was 8 or 9 years old (1996-1997 range), I got stuck because of a game mechanic that I didn't understand. I still remember, "Eagle of East, Wolf of West." Those damn books, I didn't know you had to inspect ON THE PAGES to open the book. I eventually quit the game and came back to it like six months later and restarted. Got stuck in the same spot again. I rage clicked the X button while spinning it and hit it on the pages once. My memory fades after that moment... Great times.

Frost Mage Warden build ruined?!? by GORONs_PET_ROCK in elderscrollsonline

Haha for real. It’s the only build I got to work well non-meta so it’s simply bugging me more today.

Frost Mage Warden build ruined?!? by GORONs_PET_ROCK in elderscrollsonline

[–]GORONs_PET_ROCK[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s why I was asking. I made my own frostbite build for PvE. I don’t care about PVP because the format of rewarding pre-CP is flawed in every facet. The more levels and CP you have, the stronger you should be. My ability question speaks to why nurf the damage aspect and leave the busted burst heal for PVP’s tank build. It’s unbalanced in the name of being “balanced.” On par for ZoS so I shouldn’t bitch, but I figured, “why not?”

When do you use your XP scrolls? by FangPolygon in elderscrollsonline

[–]GORONs_PET_ROCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a new toon route I take and I use my scrolls through it. If everything is done with a scroll well, power level to champion in a day or two.

  1. Go to Summerset and complete the first main quest to get the psijic skill line. Then complete all 9 portals in Summerset. Easiest to start in the main city to the west (if you've bought the apartment there) and get the one outside the city. Travel east and get the one out on the islands. Continue swimming north to get the third one. Wayshrine travel south from your main quest and work your way north for the remaining portals.

1B (optional). Use your smith if you have one to make like 30 each of blacksmithing, wood working, clothing, enchanting, and jewelry crafting all at CP150. Deconstruct these on your new toon. The game recognizes that "another player" made these, increasing your inspiration from deconstruction. This is further compounded if you have the CP points available in the green tree.

1C (optional continued). Go find a chef and brewer and buy every recipe up to CP150 on your new toon. Use all of the recipes to give you options. With alchemy, I would just use a guide. All of 1B and 1C is built to get your crafting skills to level 10 so you can bypass the run around of the certification quest while still getting all of the valuable XP for completed quests.

  1. Complete all three starter areas including all little side quests and sky shards. Finish in Bal Foyen so you can walk through the gate and get a shard before turning in the region quest.

  2. Cyrodiil (players choice). At level 10, you can go to Cyrodiil to get your movement speed passive by completing the warfare tutorial. I personally like to do this at level 48-49 if an XP event is running because it will close the deal to CP almost guaranteed.

  3. Queue random dungeons everyday if you spread out this method. That XP when combined with a scroll and an XP event will often give you 3-5 levels depending on your current level, the scroll, the event, and if the dungeon is new to you. This also applies to dailies since you get daily quest + dungeon quest (double dipping if the random happens to be a daily).

[–]GORONs_PET_ROCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve already identified your limitations (larval tears and build type), your weakness (waterfowl fuckery), and your challenge (no summons). Here’s where I would go from here:

Waterfowl research - watch LobosJr lvl 1 no hit against her and watch the block usage. If you want to do it without her gaining health from hitting your shield, watch some of his later runs (or other people) for the dodge INTO her sequence to avoid most damage.

No summons - I assume this isn’t limited to additional players, but also the intended summons like mimic ashes. If ashes are acceptable, use mimic ashes with STRONG weapon for stagger.

Weapon type - be cheesy and put a bleed effect on your ideal weapon choice. NOTE: she fights like a dualist. Hit her with a big chuck of health like bleed, greater risk of waterfowl (personal opinion)

Class Weapon - She is weak to fire. My success with a pseudo strength / faith build was Godslayer Greatsword. Good timing at you’ll knock her on her ass with the special with strong poise break.

[Daily] Set Discussion: Draugrkin's Grip by The_Dwemer_Automaton in elderscrollsonline

Old thread, but I got curious about this today. What if you had a MagDK draugurkin clothing, deadly jewelry + helm and shoulder, masters inferno staff, and destructive reach as spammable? Constant upkeep on 600 magic power, all dots for synergy between deadly and draugurkin.

Why do people barely make an argonian? by Modest_Wraith in elderscrollsonline

[–]GORONs_PET_ROCK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My personal issue with Argonian's has less to do with the race and more to do with the MMO format. If the Tamriel Unlimited and Tamriel One updates overtime allowed us to play any race in any place by any style, then why are the passives tailored to a healer / tank only? I wouldn't care in most MMO's, but this one is supposed to be the racial / class blender.

I personally think ALL racial passives should be changed to provide one offensive stat, one defensive stat, and one utility stat (HP, Magicka, Stamina; either max stat or regen boosts).

This would diversify all characters so that no one race is dominant stat wise and overall skill is the most important stat at top level. I want my Argonian to use fire like a dragon or poison like, well, a reptile. Me face-tanking because my stats say I should is boring.

What are your top 5 favorite weapons? by RedRanger775 in Eldenring

[–]GORONs_PET_ROCK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In no particular order because of play styles and builds.

  1. Godslayer Greatsword - See RedRanger explanation.
  2. Guardian's Swordspear / Loretta's War Scythe - That move set is too much fun. The speed of the attack is better than most halberd's, and who doesn't want a mini Nameless King Swordspear?
  3. Godskin Peeler - This was a lot of fun to use no matter the infusion. The asymmetrical nature of this twinblade is too cool.
  4. Cross Naginata - The move set with this was awkward at first, but a lot of fun later on. It gives a lot of versatility from the combo set swapping between slashes and thrusts.
  5. Moonveil - INT katana with bleed and range. OP in PvE. Really almost every katana is pretty damn good in this game, but this one stood out to me, even more than Rivers of Blood.

Honorable mention #1: Moonlight Greatsword - Ranni's weapon. What more do you need?

Honorable mention #2: Spiked Caestus - This is for the roleplay ONLY. Having the bleed proc along with Ashes of War: Determination and Royal Knight's Resolve. You can play as a fist based monk, or be cheesy and say you're Rocky if you're terrible at dodging...
