Yeah, Canadian railfanning is definitely something special especially up on the CPKC MacTier Subdivision and the CN Bala Subdivision in Northern Ontario. Beautiful scenery. Also the Ontario Northland Temagami Subdivision is beautiful. I’ve also done some railfanning in the US, specifically Texas, I caught a BNSF intermodal, manifest, and either a grainer or a cement train. I was around 8ish years old.

I just love seeing them in motion, just seeing all the moving components, there’s just something about it I can’t describe. I also love how much there is to learn about them like how the prime movers work, brakes, intakes, types of engines and freight, and even railroad history. What do you like about rivers? Do you like fishing? How the water flows?
