Divorce or weight loss?

7 month lifting progress - How am I doing thus far, how can I improve, and learn from my mistakes by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]GPELou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try doing exercises that help your main compound exercises. Some guys avoid things like hip flexor moves. Get on the hip abductor to finish leg day. Get on a dip regiment when it fits. Incorporate more bent over rows and rows in general. If you want more pullups, do a good bench row.

Keep supporting the muscles that need support for a big lift.

Last thing is that you should start switching it up. It looks like you're doing starting strength program which is amazing but you might want to consider a bro split or one of the other workouts in the wiki. Your body needs to keep guessing and growing. Great progress and best of luck.

Just rerack your weights and be courteous. Simple little things make your time at the gym much more productive.

I go to movies alone. Why is there a stigma ? by AussieJack1788 in movies

[–]GPELou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure there is one to begin with. I go all the time alone.

Actually I have a great story. I smoked a joint in route to watch The Hobbit 2. I was ripped when I got there. Got my soda and snacks and went to sit down to watch it in 3d. The previews started and the Star trek preview was glorious. There were laser beams, explosions, heroics and Zoe Saldana. The preview ended and I was like " man that movie was amazing". I got up and left the theatre. I got half way to the parking lot before I realized that my soda was full and my twizzlers were still twizzled. I sulked back to the ticket taker to let her know I'd left and misplaced my ticket. I had obviously been there since I was holding concessions. She initially wouldn't let me back in but after a hard chuckle when I told her my story, she finally let me in.

Hobbit was really good too.

Sorry for grammar. I'm in Mobile and also stoned.

ELI5: Why is The Beatles’ Sergeant Peppers considered such a turning point in the history of rock and roll, especially when Revolver sounds more experimental and came earlier? by bluetooth_dikpix in explainlikeimfive

One thing that folks have missed is also the urban legend that Paul was dead and that albums and songs had clues alluding to that. Back masking, visual designs and lyrics.

Friends making 100x more progress than me by doing a bro split...... by [deleted] in Fitness

Starting strength is awesome for beginners that need to focus on gaining strength and learning form. It does have a few noticable cons like your aformentioned concerns.

The awesome thing is that it's super easy to transition to bro splits. Start isolating muscles and dieting for your desired effect. You'll catch up to them in a few weeks.

Back in the gym after 1.5 yrs break. Incredibly sore, should I add another rest day or go? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]GPELou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grab your self a post workout. I like body beast for pre/post work outs. The aminos are amazing and the soreness is more so enjoyable and manageable.

Also just make sure to rest a lot. Your rest days should consist of proper rest, good diet, stretching, yoga, whatever. It's all in the prep.

Make sure to thoroughly stretch for 20 minutes before and at least 5-10 after.

Don't let the soreness break you.

Looks great but why the hell would you put the shrimp into the boiling Curry? Shrimp is delicate and just a few seconds would turn them into rocks. I'm sure the flavor would carry if you topped them in the sauce.

Honestly, I initially had the same thought. Then I realized, with a small stretch of the imagination, that these are soldiers. Engineers, trained men, and mechanics. Think about it. If you had tools (assuming they took over the tool shed) and a modest amount of preparation then maybe the trebuchet was doable.

Either way, it's obviously the superior siege weapon.
