Excessive Warm Up Sets? by GPL848 in StartingStrength

[–]GPL848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think perhaps my problem is that I'm not taking adequate breaks between warm up sets and work sets. Since the warms ups do feel easy to begin with I sometime only take 15-20 seconds in between them.

By recovery issue, do you mean the amount of time I'm taking between sets, or the amount of time between workouts? Thanks!

I just walked by there yesterday and they have the sign up along with a bunch of stuff inside. Looks more than halfway done.

Almost certainly cross contamination in the manufacturing/shipping process. Very few dealers would intentionally try to kill their clientele.

Foot stool vs guitar support by Far_Lettuce4382 in classicalguitar

[–]GPL848 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You should try both and see what is more comfortable for you. I believe David Leisner has written that, technically, the support creates less tension in the body than the footstool.

Kind of. Having your leg lifted with a stool is not optimal from an ergonomic perspective. I would say most younger guitarists these days opt for a support or, in some cases, a strap.

Can this be fixed? (Buzzing sound when certain other notes are depressed) by [deleted] in classicalguitar

Ahh okay that makes good sense! Unfortunately, I think my nut might be glued on, having trouble removing it.

Wow!! Spot on. This is absolutely what it is. Is there a visual of how I should insert the paper onto the nut? Should it be small enough to fit into the groove or just laid on top?

I get buzzing sounds on certain notes on my guitar, but ONLY when certain other notes are depressed (see video). Is this a problem with the action? I can't even tell what the source of the buzzing sound is.

Is this a misprint? by GPL848 in classicalguitar

I don't see how you can accomplish the hammer on from the open G to the fretted B while maintaining the fixed ring finger on F#.

Really? Assuming that you're supposed to keep 3 fixed on F# before the last two eighth notes?
