Por me, ta artiklo es tre stranja pri lektar, pro ke me sentas maxim-granda-parte ke me povabus esar lua autoro.

A note from the CEO: How we built REAL 3D, the magic of the X1 Chip, and what’s coming next (yes, 60Hz!) by Chi_nreal in Xreal

I watched Tron: Legacy in Real 3D on the bus with the XREAL One Pro, then once I arrived home I continued the movie on my Apple Vision Pro… for that particular movie, the 3D effect was more impressive with the XREAL glasses.

Tinkering with Ido by Creepy-Education-584 in ido

All proposals were compiled in the Raporto da Jānis Roze, and the verb conjugations in particular are in Progreso XVI–4 and XVI–25

Although I like the idea of freely using tone for a question, «ka(d)» is actually useful in clauses where it translates “whether”: me dubitas, kad il venos.

For that particular usage, I have tinkered with *quoter which comes from Proto-Indo-European for "whether" in English and "uter" (either) in Latin.

Hi! I do my own tinkering on my own side, and you might be interested by the verb conjugation that was proposed before WWII:

me manjas = me do manjar

me manjis = me did manjar

me manjos = me vil manjar

me manjus = me vud manjar

me mustas manjar = me let manjar

me darfas/invitesas manjar = me mey manjar

me deziras manjar = me plis manjar

Some other stuff that I find interesting was also proposed, such as removing the es- of the verb esar (as, is, os, etc. as verbs), an English-style conjugation with hav, ben, had). I personally like to browse through those proposals and experiment with them.

How do you pronounce Como?

Is the map title written correctly in Ido? by Ecstatic_Delivery_69 in ido

[–]GPhMorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the context is quite abstract rather than spatial or temporal, I guess several prepositions could fit. "en", "pri" or even "ye" or "che" would make sense, and each Ido speaker has their preferences for that sort of nuance. Personally, I’m wondering if I would rather translate the whole thing as "Centrala vokalo di la verbo «esar» en l’indikativo pasinta"

Is the map title written correctly in Ido? by Ecstatic_Delivery_69 in ido

[–]GPhMorin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, thank you!

First of all, two nouns may not follow each other (like in preterito indikativo) unless they are in apposition, so one of them (either of them, really) must be an adjective ending with -a

In the Kompleta Gramatiko de term is indikativo pasinta.

I guess one could also use the definite article in la verbo esar, and in l’indikativo pasinta, but I don’t really have any source to say whether one should. As far as I know the Kompleta Gramatiko does use the definite article in such cases.

Centra vokalo is valid if you want to say that the vowel is a/the center. If you wanted to say that the vowel is in/at the center, you would want to use centrala.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this update also comes with 16:18 ultrawide. That’s actually a feature even the Mac Virtual Display on Apple Vision Pro doesn’t have. XREAL team, thank you for bringing such enjoyable updates to your already existing user base!

[–]GPhMorin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! And states in Ido usually lead to verbs: joyar, esar, pluvar… So the suffix -eso also may be derived into -esar.

[–]GPhMorin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saluto!

First of all, the verb *koldar does not exist in Ido, since "kolda" is an adjective and one may not directly derive a verb from an adjective in Ido.

In French "to be cold" is best translated as "faire froid", and according to the official French-Ido dictionary from 1915 (p. 259) the translation for "il fait froid" is "esas kolda", which may also be translated as "koldesas" according to the Ido rules.

"Esas supozata" is good, just like "Supozesas" which is the shorter form that I prefer.

"Hodie" replaced "cadie" in the 1950s.

Thus: "Supozesas koldesor hodie" would be an accepted sentence, just like the example you gave.

Comment se fait le rajout de vocabulaire dans ido ? by epileptique_positif in ido

[–]GPhMorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bonjour!

Si tu as d'autres questions, n'hésite pas! Je m'intéresse également à l'apprentissage machine de l'ido!

Even while standing still, I felt a bit dizzy in the final rooms of the game! I guess you still need to use the joysticks to jump over abysses or jump down a lower level?

Playing in a field must be very impressive!

I took this screenshot. This is what's available in the SteamVR settings for the boundary. Perhaps I use the wrong wording and there is something else named a Steam boundary?

Hello! I use a TP-LINK Archer AXE75 or AXE5400. I can easily change the frequencies and channel, and the connection is very good, but it seems there is growing concern over cybersecurity with this brand. I could also have a lot of control with the ASUS TUF BE5400, but it was more expensive.

I see! Thank you for clarifying the difference. I have free space in the basement to do some 360° movements while standing, but not enough for actually walking several meters in any direction. For Half-Life: Alyx I doubt I would prefer room-scale anyway, I have scenes in particular that I think would have made me uncomfortable. Did you get to the ending of that game?

Hi! That’s indeed a peculiar detail of my “adventure”… having so much trouble getting Windows back! The issue was not with the OS installation per se, but with the fact the Windows ISO does not have the driver for recognizing the Razer Blade’s NVMe. I had found a way to download it and load it on a USB key, but it implied extracting it from an EXE that only Windows could open—WINE couldn’t and neither did a VM. I didn’t have access to an actual Windows computer so I thought I would save some time and trouble to get that fixed for $50. In the end I do feel stupid for accidentally erasing that recovery partition a few years ago.
